1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: How to open SMF in another window? on: December 04, 2006, 03:59:32 AM
A simple workaround will be to create a URL link for your menu, copy the URL of your forums (bridged) into the Link field, and then have it open in "New Window With Browser Navigation".

Well done, it works.

Thanks very much. Cheesy

3  Joomla Core Discussion / Joomla 1.0.x / Re: User registration doesn't work? on: December 02, 2006, 11:56:48 AM
Yup, fresh installion of Joomla.

I've already set up a contact for people to send me emails right after installed joomla.

Any clue how to set user's not to be Block after registering?

In my global configuration, my allow user registration, new account activation, require unique email all are on YES. but yet i got receive email when registering new accounts.

I got a cross under the Enable (meaning that they are disabled), i have to edit their profile, untick the Block user, only they can log in, but without the activation

After activating the user manually thru admin CP, I tried sending mass emails to the users to try out whether they can receive my Msg or not, however, I also do not receive any email.

Would anyone like to share their things in the Global Configuration -> Mail -> (and the setting all there) ?

The Sendmail Path is " /usr/sbin/sendmail " , yet I can find folder or file with this address.

Please help! a joomla is dead without users that able to register >_<

Will installing Community Builder overcome, or improves this problem?

Hi,

I took the whole morning to install joomla on the hostserver.

Everything runs smooth except I got the Session Save Path Unwriteable. After reading several topics in joomla forums,I contacted my host and they say it doesn't matter. So I continue my installation.

After installation, everything is good. I am able to access my CP, and everything else! this is a good news isn't it?

However, when i register an account to try out whether the registration function is working or not.

I registered 2 accounts on other 2 emails but for about 10 minutes I still haven't receive any mails to activate my account.

----------updates--------

I found out that all new registration of users, the Block User is selected at Yes. How do I unblock them automatically? It is no way to unblock all users one by one when there are hundreds of poeple registered, isn'it?

And after unblock them, I still haven't receive the email to activate. however, after unblock, the users i registered is able to log in without email activation.

Please help, thank you.

Ok, thanks for your suggestion.

Then below is my updated steps

1. install joomla 1.0.11 (stable release)
2. install SMF 1.1 RC3
3. install CB 1.0.2 (stable release)
4. bridge all these 3 using JSMF 2.0 RC3

Hi,

I am a total new user for these bridging stuff. And I wish to learn more!

I got a question about briding the Joomla, SMF and CB.

After installing Joomla CMS, I should install SMF or CB first? If to install SMF first, do I have to brdige SMF and Joomla together before installing CB?

Below is my personal plan, and I do not know it will work or not, so I need advice from people here.

1. install joomla
2. install SMF on joomla's db using webinstaller
3. bridge SMF and Joomla
4. install CB
5. brdige CB and SMF
6. done

Very much Thank you,
lazo
