Well, I got one step further now again. The images are working as they should. It's just a matter of correcting the links in the MySQL database. I found about 10 entries 8 of which were connected to SMF. So, at this moment it is working fine except for the double login procedure. This could be due to the fact that I have my Joomla site in 'offline' mode. This results in strange things happening to the sessions I think (I keep being logged out from the admin area for example).
My latest problem is that my admin account does not function anymore. I can login as any other user, but the admin account doen't work. I have the system change the password and used the new one, but it didn't help either, so I entered the correct password. I hope there is a way of upgrading members to admins using the database directly. That way I wouldn't bother about my official admin login. I will create one to work with using the dbase. Anyone know which value to set?
// Update: Found the value in the dbase: ID_Group to 1
Well, I found several instances in the database which I changed, but that didn't work out in the first place. Next I checked again the settings files and found that some changes didn't come through correctly, so I tried again.
My frontpage is loading again and most things seem ok, but for some strange reason all pictures of the theme I use don't show up. It seems more the less that the system cannot find any theme since everything is 'text-only'. I'm working on this and expect the problem to be somewhere in the theme config, so I'll keep you updated (might someone know the answer right-away, I'd be happy to save myself some time).
Other issue I have a question about is the link between Joomla and SMF2.0. Is it correct that you always have to login twice (once for Joomla and once for SMF)? In that case I'd like to see a way of combining the sessions for Joomla and SMF such that logging in in Joomla (I am using Community Builder actually) means a log-in to the forum as well. Is this possible? (I'm not a very experienced programmer, so I probably won't be able to contribute this technique to the world...)
im quite new to the whole JSMF thing, but I really like it a lot. Unfortunately I run in to the following problem:
I build a webpage on my personal offline server (XAMPP) and everything works fine. Now I have uploaded everything to the webserver online, but I cannot get SMF to know that I have another base dir. I have tried to change the basedir using the config panel in my Joomla admin area, but I have entered the correct path in the settings.php and the settings_bak.php as well.
It doesn't help me in any way. Strange thing is that everytime I check the settings in the control panel (inside Joomla admin) the config states the old basedir. No matter the amount of times I change the text (my guess is that there is a permissions problem here). But it keeps stating the wrong basedir even after changing the value in the settings.php file directly. I have a feeling that I missed a spot where it is stored as well, but I cannot find it. I searched the database as well, but the only entry I found concerned the avatar dir (which I changed as well, of course). This didn't help either.
