Hello and thank you for the reply.

I looked further into the pdf manual and released this only works with smf + Joomla sharing same databases and mine do not and thats a problem.

Great pdf by the way.

I looked through some of these pages and I am more confused the ever.

ALl i want to do is bridge joomla and smf... I downloaded the pdf, very well written, but I cant use this bridge because in the pdf it says my joomla and smf needs to be installed into the same db... im confused on that.. I have a separate sql db for joomla and one for smf... i thought that kind of install was common.. so if I cant use this because of how my install is, what can I use ?

I need to bridge my latets Joomla release and rc3 smf
whats the diference between the bridges from one site to the other ?
This is confusing on knowing which to use and why.

I need something like everyone thats going to "work" I dont have time to play around with beta stuff or things thats going to cause my site to break and wait weeks to get it fixed.

I have a site that needs to go live in 2 weeks or less and I just dont know which bridge to use... since I still need to fix my forums (somehow) after using a converter from IPB to SMF.

And time is limited.

Good advice be appreciated.

All I want to do is have joomla and smf share same login, infact I dont even think I care if people can only login from the forums... but I need forums to be inside the joomla theme.. in a wrapper.

Hello,

I am looking at installing joom for the first time.

Ive only ever used one other cms before and that was e107 and ditched it and went back to IPB because we couldnt stand the horrible forums that cms had.

I have come across this cms because it can be integrated with IPB forums so I plan to experiment with that and see what I think.

I'm looking through the templates and I want to download one in specific being the bf2 template found here:

http://www.joomlahacks.com/joomla/templates/0,0,0,0,6,72,8/

there is 2 the same with different digits near the zip file... how do I know what they mean and which do I need and does it matter which I download ?

I dont even know what the latets version of joom is etc.

Some guidance be appreciated.
