I am wondering how to get the JSMF registration code to remove the copyrights text. Is $1 donation enough? I donated $1 USD yesterday and got no code yet.  Huh  Huh

thanks!

6  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / how to patch joomla login to the JSMF login link? on: January 15, 2007, 06:01:23 PM
I found it is kind of complex to describe what I mean by patching joomla to the JSMF login link. Let me put this question in this way:

In the 'global configuration' of my joomla backend, I set 'show unauthorized link' to 'Yes' so that the content titles are visible to regular visitors, but when (s)he clicks the title or 'read more'link, they will be prompted a window that requires them to login/register to view the particular content they want to read. However, in the item list page under a certain category, the titles are not linkable, but have a 'Register to read more... ' link  following the titles(see http://www.panda-greatwall.com/chinese-characters/index.php for details). When a regular visitor clicks the 'Register to read more...' link, thon (s/he) is redirected to the joomla  registration page which cannot be found (http://www.panda-greatwall.com/registration/register.html), because the joomla registration system was disabled due to the use of cb registration.

My site (joomla + smf) has community builder and JSMF 2.0 final installed, I am wondering how to patch the joomla login/registration to JSMF login/registration link which, in my case, should be http://www.panda-greatwall.com/your-profile/registers.html .

I am not so sure whether I made myself understood or not. Maybe I need to post this in Community builder forums???

thanks a lot!
7  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: JSMF 2.0.1 on: January 15, 2007, 05:21:49 PM
can I change the layout of the login module to 'horizontal' in this version?

thanks  Huh Huh
8  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / how do I stop redirecting users to forums after logging in/out? on: January 06, 2007, 04:53:21 PM
I'm using JSMF 2.0 final on my site. No matter how I change the redirect url at the JSFM login module, it always redicts users to the forum (e.g. www.panda-greatwall.com/forum) after logging in/out. What can I do to make the redirect work??

thanks a lot!
9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: com_smf error after site migration. on: January 05, 2007, 09:55:36 PM
now, the problem has been fixed by re-installing JSMF 2.0 final. However, my SMF forums still cannot be accessed. The error message is:

Quote
Database Error
Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator.
10  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / com_smf error after site migration. on: January 05, 2007, 08:46:01 PM
today, I migrated my entire site to a new server. The 'forum recent topics' module works fine for most of the time. However, when I tried to access the Artist Directory (an old mambo component) page, the 'forum recent topics' module has the following error:
Quote
Warning: opendir(/home/pandaig/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/cache/db/cache_e/) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/pandaig/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/includes/Lite.php on line 611

See this link: http://www.panda-greatwall.com/language-media-lab/playsong-25.html

com_smf worked flawlessly on my old server, I don't know how to fix this problem.

by the way, my old server uses Direct Admin control panel, while the new server uses Cpanel. Looks like this migration has some permission problem.

ps: for migration, I made a tar ball for my entire site and then extracted it on my new server.

should I disable 'Function caching' in the JSMF backend?

thanks a lot!

11  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Copyright error message on: December 24, 2006, 11:42:39 AM
thanks Livebox.

I am wondering why the problem only arises when viewing the forums in the unwrapped way (like http://www.joomlahacks.com/forums), considering the forums don't interfere with Joomla!?

thanks again.
12  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Copyright error message on: December 23, 2006, 10:36:20 PM
I too have this problem when viewing the forums in the unwrapped mode only. No copyrights error when viewing my SMF forums in the wrapped way.

I also tried to change the SMF theme back to the default theme, but same problem exists in the unwrapped mode.

I couldn't find the footer file in my forums directory, anyone can tell me where the footer file is??

thanks a lot!
13  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: CB Plugins for SMF (v2.1) on: December 23, 2006, 12:48:12 AM
If I have installed the plugins in the package of JSMF 2.0 RC3, do I still need to 'upgrade' to the plugins attached to the first post in this thread??

I know this kind of sounds st$p$d, but I saw the version (2.1) of the plugins in the first post looks higher than those in the JSMF 2.0 RC3 package. In addition, JSMF 2.0 rc3 was released later than the first post. right???

thanks
14  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Admin got demoted after changing the username. on: December 22, 2006, 05:10:28 PM
My joomla uses the latest Community builder registration system and SMF 1.1 final. Joomla-SMF 2.0 RC3 is used to integrate SMF and my Joomla!.

For security reason, I changed the administrator's uername from 'admin' to 'adminxmas' in the community builder user management panel last night. However, when I logged in my SMF forums today, I couldn't see the 'admin' link on the top menu in my forums, which suggest I am not considered SMF administrator. In addition, the newest user in the SMF forums stats area shows 'Administrator'. Isn't this kind of ludicrous??

dunno whether anyone found this problem before... So, to enable Administration on my SMF, I changed the username back to 'admin' in the community builder control panel, again Sad  Huh
15  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: JSMF 2.0RC3 released on: December 17, 2006, 12:25:18 AM
after upgrading SMF to 1.1 final, the login module redirects users to the forum page, which remains to be modified.... any solutions available yet?
