I don't see the problem... with the handler for lowering the version, you can add a line in .htaccess for turning register globals off.

I have the same situation, I skipped CB and used the custom profile module of SMF. Works great and makes thing less complex.

If you turn on SEF in Joomla, you get the topic-id in the URL. What do you want to do with that?

There are problems reported with PHP 5.2.x. Please search the forum for the solution.

It's not clear for me, what you exactly mean. If you want SMF as the "home" page, you go to the administration of Joomla > Menu > Mainmenu. Next move the JSMF component, so it's the first of the list. Now you have SMF as your start page.

I see no white forum template? Maybe clearing your browsers cache, will do?

You should go for 1.0.15 because there are some serious fixes in de latest versions. I far as I know there are no (or minimal) language changes. You can use the language pack of 1.0.13 on 1.0.15.

It's no problem to integrate SMF with Joomla. You can use JSMF for this. I understand that  Joomla video gallery is a module, so this will work out of the box in Joomla.

Php auction XL is not a joomla or SMF component, you could integrate this using the wrapper function in Joomla.

Weird, The bridge should not work at all; JSMF 2.0.2 is not compatible with Joomla 1.0.13 and higher. First of all I recommend you to upgrade Joomla to 1.0.15 and JSMF to 2.0.2.1.

The Joomlabridge isn't compatible with Joomla 1.5.x and won't be in the future.
