1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: AEC+CB+SMF+JSMF - Registration problem on: February 10, 2007, 06:24:30 PM
http://bv.bergrevyen.com

It's in norwegian, and i have made a kinda reg-guide that ppl have to read before registrering (not influencing the actuall registration in any way).. So in case you can't find your way to the reg-page, here is a direct link: http://bv.bergrevyen.com/index.php?option=com_acctexp&task=register

And I strongly suggest Firefox is used when accessing my site, a guideline I intend to follow for all my visitors..

BTW: Don't worry about the payment plan, I only use bank-transfer payment.. So just register as usual, and i'll delete your account later on Smiley
2  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / AEC+CB+SMF+JSMF - Registration problem on: February 10, 2007, 12:50:23 PM
Hey..

Firstly, thanks for the great work you have done with the JSMF-component!

Then on to my problem. I'm currently setting ut a site with the following versions:
Joomla! 1.0.12
CB 1.0.2
AEC 0.10.1
SMF 1.1.1
JSMF 2.0.2
CB SMF Plugin 2.0.3

Before i installed SMF+JSMF+CB SMF Plugin everything on my site worked just fine, but after installing this all user experience problems when registering..

I am using the CB-engine to register, but under control by AEC. I use multiple (5-6) custom made fields to get users address, phoneno., zip-code, gender etc. This is where the problem/bug makes all the troubles break loose. On the registration form, all the field are there and are filled out. When pressing "register" a message stating that the custom fields have not been filled out, and that this is required. One would think that this would take you back to the registration form. But no, instead the user is shown the "AEC Confirmation form" with info about payment etc.

Now, when approving users in the back-end of CB, the custom fields (and first + last name) are empty. This itself is a problem, but the problem gets even worse when I (the admin) get an "this field already exists in SMF"-error message when trying to input this information myself.

Another regitration problem is that according to my settings, users should have to confirm their email after registration, but the mail is never sent.

Anyone have a solution for this, would be great! Cheesy

4  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Forum Profile Edit Error + Discussbot issues on: October 23, 2006, 12:09:12 PM
Ok, i will try debuging for the forumprofile error..

But the discussbot error is there, no matter what. I have tried it on 3-4 different joomla/smf/jsmf installations, every time with the same result/error..

Btw, does the Discussbot 1.4.3.1 work with JSMF2? If so, that would be great since the 1.4.3.1 worked perfectly well before Smiley
5  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Forum Profile Edit Error + Discussbot issues on: October 16, 2006, 10:21:31 PM
I have recently installed a clean version of both J1.0.11, SMF 1.1RC3 and JSMF 2RC1.

Forum Profile Error:
When any user want to edit his or her 'Forum Profile Information' (avatar etc.) he/her is redirected to the Main Profile Page. Ergo access is kind of denied into the editing page. This only occurs when using the JSMF-bridge.

Discussbot 2.0 Issues:

Well, 1. the discussbot does not (unlike v1.4) automatically create forum topics, they have to be manually added by a human.
And 2. The 'link back to the item on the main page' (from top of forum-post) is wrongly generated and shows the following (ex.) "http://option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=" and has to be manually edited to http://www.myurl.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=
(The part in bold has to be added manually.)

Check my site for control and problem-spotting: http://loco.play-fm.com

Hope these error can be fixed in upcoming versions of the otherwise perfectly nice JSMF bridge Smiley
6  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Several problems with JSMF on: October 02, 2006, 07:12:48 PM
I will be patient Smiley

But notice that this error/fault is observed in both JSMF 1.1.4.2 and JSMF 2.0 Beta-versions.. So i thought this might not have to do with this new release, but more a general error on my site in specific..

Anyway, i understand that thing are hectic here at the moment.. *Patience*

Yes, everything concerning settings etc are the same as they always have been (when it worked). And yes, the patches installed successfully.

Ehm, i dont have the exact url to the JSMF-bridged forum since i uninstalled it..

2mins, i will install it again and post a direct link to the JSMF-bridged forum:)
12  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Several problems with JSMF on: September 25, 2006, 02:26:56 PM
After having used both JSMF 1 and JSMF 2 Beta successfully for more than six months, something kinda strange happened!

When using the SMF RC 1.2 under the JSMF-bridge i met the following errors/issues, and there are probably more of them..

Note that after the problems were noticed, i upgraded the forum to SMF RC 1.3, including a successfull database upgrade..

Problems:
1. When entering a text into the searchbox, and of course trying to search for content containing this text, i was given the error message (or something similar): "You need to enter a text into the box"
2. When posting a forum post i get the following three error messages (all at once, and once againg the error message is not accurate):
a) You need to enter a topic title.
b) You need to enter a text in the topic.
c) You are not logged in, please do so. (Note that my user (an admin) has been logged in continuouslu both before and after the attempted posting)
3. In the admin-panel several field and settings are impossible to change. Everything seems ok, but the setting just won't change!

Note that none of these problems occur when accessing and using the forum seperately from the JSMF-bridge.

So:

http://play-fm.com/no/index.php?com_smf.php?forum.php? (again, not exact) does  NOT work!

while..

http://play-fm.com/no/forum/index.php DOES work perfectly okay! (even while the bridge is installed, the only difference is what url i access the forum from)

Help is greatly appreciated Smiley
13  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Is it possible to use another joomla database prefix than jos_ ?? on: September 07, 2006, 05:26:03 PM
Hey

I am using a different joomla database prefix than "jos_". It is in fact "playfmnoforum_".

I know the readme says USE jos_ and so on.. And yes, i am running a rather succesfull joomlaSMF bridge on http://www.play-fm.com using jos_ as the joomla database..

But this time i am setting up my site on http://no.play-fm.com, which in the current fase has to exist at the same time as the old site, forum and joomlaSMF bridge.

This is the reason for using a different joomla database prefix: "playfmnoforum_"

So basically i am askin for a way around the errors i am getting during my attempts to bridge my Joomla 1.0.11 and SMF RC3..

btw, the old site (http://www.play-fm.com) is using Joomla 1.0.8 and SMF RC2. Could this difference between the old and new site be another reason for the error message i am getting.. ?
14  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Discussionbot, what to enter in the "Default discussion board:" field? on: March 26, 2006, 06:32:25 PM
Hmm.. i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the updated one u posted in the thread u mentioned.. But it still doesnt work.. Any more ideas?
Im running:
Joomla 1.0.8
SMF 1.1RC2
CB 1.0 RC 2
and the newest SMF/CB/Joomla bridge
in addition to the CBLogin, the SMFdiscussbot and cb/smf plugin..

btw, i have another problem you might know the answer to: On my site: www.play-fm.com, registration doesnt work. When trying to register a new user, i get this error message: "mosuser::store failed "
This has just suddenly appeared, without me changing any setting.

Looking forward to an answer Wink
15  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Discussionbot, what to enter in the "Default discussion board:" field? on: March 26, 2006, 03:16:39 PM
Hey..

I love the SMF Forum, bridge, login and so on. It all works as good as can be expected..

BUT, the SMF Discussbot, meant to make new forumtopics when content is added to the main site, doesnt work..

I cant get the bot to 1. make a new topic, and 2. the link from the bottom of the main page content doesnt work..

I think the fault lies in what i entered into the: "Default discussion board:" field..
I have tried both url: "index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=39&board=34.0" and board name: "Diskuter artikler fra hovedsiden"

What is the correct thing to enter into this field?

You can check the site for other possible mistakes in the SMF Discussbot.. Smiley

Another thing i cant get to work is the mailfunction (the site in general).. i cant get either the SMTP or PHPlocal settings to work.. Help is appreciated
