2  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / How to upgrade? on: March 23, 2008, 11:30:41 PM
Hi,

I am currently using Joomla 1.0.11, JSMF 2.0 RC3 and SMF 1.1RC3. I will be upgrading to Joomla 1.0.15 and would like to know if JSMF 2.0 RC3 is compatible with this version.

If not, please let me know the steps needed to take to upgrade with causing any problem. My site currently have the following stats and I want to minimize the possible 'damage' when performing the upgrade works:-

Hi Wolverine,

Any idea when RC2 will be released or can I replace the existing code with the reworked code?

Thanks.

I started to write a standalone script to do this once but the user found another way.  I can do it again, might be a good addition to the bridge.  I don't know when I can complete it though, my job search is ongoing and I have some interviews this week I must prepare for.  And I am gone on vacation this coming weekend.  Sorry.

Hi Wolverine,

I encountered similar problem. Any quick guide on how i can get it done? Your great help is much appreciated.

you could do that, but I'm not sure what the point would be.  Either login will log you into both Joomla and SMF.

just want to make more universal.. and avoid any confusion. How should i do so?

thanks.

If you are accessing the forum through the Joomla url it will automatically redirect users to the correct registration based on the selection of Registration System in the bridge configuration.

Thanks! Any way to make the "Login" in SMF to redirect to Joomla login as well?

hi wolverine,

I am new to this bridge and i could install the jsmf 2.0 successfully.
under configuration, here are some of the setting
Registration system:      Joomla/Mambo
Login module:   Joomla/Mambo

When i am in SMF, how i can redirect user to joomla register page / login page when they click "Register" and "Login" respectively. Is it possible?

Thanks.
