I'm already using joomla for my site. How difficult is it to change to mambo now. I'm not overly keen on doing this as its taken me a while to sort out my Amazon ads etc but I am open to advise.
I checked the CHMOD for the template folder (which holds all of the vaarious templates I have tried to drag and drop with), this I changed from 777 to 755, and I checked the CHMOD of the actual template I really want to use and and it was already 755.
After these changes I still can't drag and drop to my preferred template so looks like I will be heading off to see me webhosting support desk not exactly the quickest in the world but if needs must.
I will post when I get this resolved so it will hopefully be of use to other people.
OK, so I changed to 'Search Engine Friendly URLs' in SEO and now none of links work.
I thought if I deleted all my content and recreated the Categories and Sections I had before it might make new links but no.
Even categories I am adding for the first time, their links are not working.
I went into CHANGELOG.PHP and change the access to Read, Write and Execute for the User, Group and Others group.
Can someone help me please.
Edited to say - I can't change htaccess.txt to .htaccess as I dont have a file called htaccess.txt, I already have .htaccess and I definitely didn't do this change. Thanks
I want to delete some checked out items as I changed to 'Search Engine Friendly URLs' and now my links dont work anymore.
I thought I would delete my various categories and sections and re-create then again as I didn't have many but they are all checked out and I can't get rid of them.
When I was looking in the templates folder there was only 1 directory called joomla-admin, once I saw what the graphics were I figured they were for the original template but for some reason there is not a folder for the template I am using now which should have been called DDJ003 (something like that going from memory.
OK, I figured out what I did wrong, I went into the admin folder and then looked at templates instead of looking in templates, I've found myDDJ003 folder .
I have installed SmartFTP and have been having a wander about and templates and images folder you mentioned I have found that. I downloaded the contents and ended up with various graphics, but they are for the ugly black header, rather than the template I installed on your advice.
I have installed Firefox and installed a new template to replace the solar flame one.
But thats where I run into problems. I am in media manager and have found a direcory called /M_Images but can not see the heading. Also dont know how I would extract it evem if I found it.
Sorry to be a pain but I did tell you I was very new to all this
I am very new to website creation and Joomla and I'm having some trouble finding things.
I would like to change the big black Joomla graphic at the top of the page and get rid of the powered by advert on the right of the page but I can not seem to fin out where to do this.
I thought maybe editing the template but 1. I dont think I am allowed to edit this template 2. Even if I am allowed I have no clue how to do it.
