1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Avatar chmod problems on: December 13, 2006, 02:51:08 PM
Hi all, I open a new topic for my problem cause I identified where the problem is. When I upload an avatar image by community builder, the thumbnail created has 640 as permission code. Both user and group are unknown, so accessing the image by web I can not see the image. If I change the permission in 644 then I can see the image by web url....Is this a problem of community builder? (Before I installed jsmf-bridge this problem was not present).
Another strange thing: if I upload an avatar by SMF, the image has chmod 640...the user is unknown and the group is "nogroup". In this case albeit I chmode the image in 777, the image isn't visible by web....how can I resolve this problem?

Maybe I found the problem: when I load an avatar through community builder, a thumb for that avatar is generated automatically...The problem on my site is that the avatar is correctly displayed, but instead the thumb image is not visible.
This happens even if I try to access the thumb image directly from the browser, giving the correct url...(instead the avatr is normally visible)
I have checked on my server and the avatar and the thumb are both present...Now my question: is it possible that there is some problem in community builder when creating the thumb?
(This problem is presente since I installed jmsf2.0 rc3..).

I can add two things:
- I'm using SMF Forum published only for a tipology of users (for a short test period)
- I would use JSMF-login-module (maybe will solve my problem), but the avatar that appears in that module is not resized, and so some big avatar is not completely visible..

Hi all! I have a similar strange problem with avatar..
My configuration is:
Joomla 1.0.11
JSMF 2.0 RC3
Community Builder 1.0
I have also installed the latest version of smf-cb plugin, smf posts, smf profile, and smf signature.

First time I went in "forum profile" tab, in community builder profile page, I could see normally my avatar at the top of the page and in "forum profile" tab-window...I synchronyzed my avatar from main site to forum, and that I got some strange things:
1) I use "community builder login module" which show avatar when you are logged in, but after sync, that module show only my username without image
2) In community builder profile page, my avatar is still visible at the top of the page, but not in the "forum-profile tab window...
3) In forum my avatar is not visible at all
4) If I load another avatar from community builder I got the same situation, my avatar is not visible in community builder login module..so I can not restore my avatar...strange thing.. Sad

Can you help with this strange situation?

Anyway I would thanks Wolverine for this good good work!!  Smiley

I have the same problem..
When I try to modify user profile from the "forum profile" tab of cb-profile-page, I'm redirect to the forum profile page, but when I link "save" or any link from the forum-menu on the left I get the same error of Andy..

I'm getting a similar error.  When I select the Forum Profile Tab... then select modify profile...
I'm now at this url:
http://www.usg-v-sog.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=30&action=profile;u=1;sa=forumProfile

Now when I select "Change Profile", I end up at this url:
http://www.usg-v-sog.com/index.php?option=com_comprofiler2
and this error message...
I'm using the CB plugins from this thread.
