1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: JACL and JSMF 2.0 Beta on: September 11, 2006, 05:00:31 PM
I'd be glad to help beta test when you start working on 2.1.

Unfortunately, after spending 2 months of development for this corporate site I'm building, it seems like I might have to scrap Joomla all together.  There are just too many limitations in terms of ACL, categorization, etc.  I've spent over $1000 on 3rd party components and modules to overcome these "shortcomings" (k, may not be shortcomings for all, but definately for my current needs), and still can't get the results I need.   Sad

Tx very much for your help and keep up the amazing work,

Ira

try it with JACL, let me know how it goes.

Installed JACL, and while it's not interfering with the bridge, it's definately not integrated as far as I can tell.

It might just be my inexperince with SMF or CB, but does the bridge usually syncronize the default ACL groups from Joomla?  I don't see any options in SMF or the bridge component to link the standard user groups to any newly created groups in SMF...

Ira

ps (should I move this to a new topic? )

With great help from this thread, I finally got everything installed and working smoothly, tx for this amazing bridge!

The one (huge) remaining issue I have is that my clients absolutely need JACL plus installed in order to protect access to certain web sections and forums.  Sad

I've looked through these (and the JACL, Joomla, CB, etc) forums and I'm getting the sinking feeling that this isn't yet possible, even with beta 2, is that correct?  Sad Sad

If not possible with the default setup, does anyone know of any hacks to JSMF, CB, JACL, or Joomla that would get this working?  I'd even be willing to pay $$$ to get this done, as I've been building this site with Joomla for over 2 months and the thought of having to scrap it all together for another cms is freaking me out.

Thanks in advance,

Ira
4  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Error on: August 28, 2006, 08:36:44 PM
Hey all,  I'm also having the same problem.  If I edit the file (change the : ' to : 0;), and click save back on the component screen, it removes the zeros from the config file and I get the error.

Anyone resolve this yet by any chance?

Tx!

Ira

Running the following:
J! 1.0.10
SMF 1.1RC3
JSMF 1.1.4.2
RegisterGlobals Off
CB Gallery 1.0.1
PHP 4.4.4
Apache 1.3.37 (Unix)

Getting the error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' in /home/XX/public_html/joomla/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php on line 6
