1  Joomla Hacks / Feedback / Re: Joomla SMF Feature Suggestion on: October 25, 2008, 08:22:06 AM
Yes, I must had complained several times, especially when this bridge was abandoned. But this does not mean I am completely negative to it.

I apologize if your think I don't like JSMF. No, I like it. I could not complain if I did not care it.

I also had donated 10 dollars to the author. (maybe too few to you, but $10.00 to me in our country means $70 to you in US.)

I never mean hostile to this bridge. Maybe you misunderstood.

And this time, I did not ASK for development, I just want to know if someone ELSE has some new status of something about GroupJive and JSMF. If no new progress, I will not REQUEST it since I know JSMF was abandoned for a long time. Did I asked you to do anything?

Thanks to the author of JSMF, if you are one of the authors, thank you too. I apologize again for complaining about JSMF before.

You don't need to tell me to stop, because I already stopped. Did you find I complaining recently?

I know JSMF was abandoned. But my bridged forum is not dead.

So I hope to find something still can support this bridge.

Thanks.
4  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: JACL and JSMF 2.0 Beta on: October 23, 2008, 04:13:32 AM
Did you got some perfect solution for mapping user groups between Joomla 1.0.x and bridged SMF ?

Thanks.
5  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: How to avoid visit the forum by www.domain.com/smf ? on: July 30, 2008, 08:51:23 PM
you can also put this code in your SMF index.php:

Code:
// Redirect users who try to access /forum directly
if (strpos($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'], 'dlattach') === false && strpos($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'], 'verificationcode') === false)
{
        if(!defined('_VALID_MOS')){ header("Location: /index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=yourItemidNum&".$_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']);}}
}

this was written by Kindred at simplemachines.org

Recently I upgraded to SMF 1.1.5 (by large package overwrite), and found the JoomlaHacks bridge can still work.

But when I insert those code into the index.php, then I got blank page when visiting the forum homepage.

Maybe I inserted in a wrong place?

Could you please help me again?
6  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: I will pay for JSMF bridge for Joomla! 1.5.x on: March 02, 2008, 10:12:46 AM
Thanks for your response. I think I can't afford that expensive developement.

I will try to convert the JSMF to Joomla! 1.5 version my self.

If I can't finish this job, I think I will give up SMF, since I need Joomla! to install many other extensions.
7  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Jump over Joomla! 1.0.14, use Joomla! 1.0.15 on: March 02, 2008, 08:08:19 AM
Someone had reported that when upgrade Joomla! core to 1.0.14, the JSMF bridge can't work well. That message stopped me for upgrading my website.

Today, I tested JSMF 2.2.0.1 on Joomla! 1.0.15 with SMF 1.1.4, they work very well. The installation and configuration procedures were very smooth.

So I suggest other users to ignore Joomla! 1.0.14 and go directly to 1.0.15 version.

Of course, please test my opinion before you use it on your production site, and, please make full backup before the updating operation.
8  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / I will pay for JSMF bridge for Joomla! 1.5.x on: February 27, 2008, 04:14:29 AM
Since the release of Joomla! 1.5 beta2, I am waiting for a new SMF bridge for Joomla! 1.5. But very sad to see that there is NO one !

I think the JSMF 2.0.2.1 bridge can be converted to a native Joomla! 1.5 component, with its modules and mambots.

If somebody want to do this job, please tell me your price. If I can afford it, I will pay you.

Thanks.
9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: anyone try joomla 1.0.14 and jsmf? on: February 18, 2008, 07:46:27 PM
And there are no updates planned in the near future for the JSMF bridge.

This is a bad news for all of those thousands of JSMF users. We NEED to upgrade to Joomla! 1.0.14 to avoid found security issues, but if JSMF can't work with Joomla! 1.0.14, what should we do?

I don't know what happened between official teams of Joomla! and SMF, and I DON'T CARE. I think all JSMF users ONLY care one thing: let SMF work with Joomla! as usual.

You had mentioned JFusion. But in my eyes, JFusion is not a bridge at all. It has no threat to JSMF.

Do those JSMF developers also have some un-pleasant issue with Joomla! official team? Even so, you should not stop developing JSMF for Joomla!, because this abandonment ONLY hurts JSMF users, NOT the Joomla! team.

Please pick up the JSMF for Joomla! project and help us, thank you very much !
10  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Help Req: Error when Admin registers users on: February 18, 2008, 07:28:07 PM
I have left Joomla and going to Support the Mambo Foundation.

Why left Joomla! ? Although the Joomla! team had left SMF and chose phpbb3, but we users still love SMF very much!

I still regard JSMF as the best bridge component for Joomla! 1.0.x, and I had donated $10 to the author of JSMF.

I hope you will come back to Joomla! version and develop new bridge for Joomla! 1.5 to integrate SMF 2.0.

If you finish this bridge, I would like to donate more.

Thanks very much.
11  Joomla Hacks / Feedback / Re: I want to thank the developer of JSMF by donation on: January 25, 2008, 06:44:10 PM
OK, I found the donating button on the JSMF backend page.

I have donated $10.00 to you.

Thank you again for your EXCELLENT works!

If you permit, I want to make a small suggestion: Could you please find some spare time to make a new JSMF bridge for Joomla! 1.5?

We don't have a satisfactory bridge on Joomla! 1.5 platform.

Thanks.
12  Joomla Hacks / Feedback / I want to thank the developer of JSMF by donation on: January 25, 2008, 06:23:48 PM
Day after day, the more I use JSMF, the more appreciation I have in my mind toward the developers.

JSMF is the greatest bridge component for Joomla! I have met.

I think I should donate to thank these guys.

Where can I find the donating button or link?

Thanks.
13  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Quick Reply Plugin? on: January 25, 2008, 06:17:00 PM
Is SMF 2.0.x released ? We call have not seen it.

Why you want this plugin for an unavailable software ?
14  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: what about the new release of joomla 1.0.14 RC1 and our bridge on: January 15, 2008, 05:40:56 AM
Yes, the bridge JSMF v2.0.2.1 can still work.

I just updated my website to Joomla! 1.0.14 RC1, you can see the SMF running smoothly there: http://www.joomlagate.com
15  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: how to upgrade from 2.0.2 to 2.0.2.1 ? on: October 19, 2007, 05:28:05 AM
We should be more careful, since Kevin8020 had announced the updating method here:

NOTE: For people who wish to upgrade from 2.0.2, simply upload the new smf.class.php file into components/com_smf.
