... it is so easy! Thanks for your help.

Why didn't I find that out, earlier? Didn't I read enough of the documentation? I already installed an older version of your jsmf-bridge, so I already knew the procedure.
Just in case I'm not too st$p$d: Perhaps it would prevent others from running into the same problems by having a hint on the Joomla-SMF Forum Installation on the Jommla-Admin-Backend!?

Hi,
I tried to upgrade my environment from Joomla 1.0.8 to 1.0.11 and SMF to the lates version. Everything seemed to work fine for itself. But Joomla and SMF won't work together. My Joomla-Site, where the Board should be located is just blank. I found out, that there should be a problem with old Bridge-Modules and/or Components, so I took the chance to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing with up-to-date-software.

When I try to Patch the Joomla Source Files, I get the following error.

Quote
Failed: Code to be patched not found in file:

click to patch    Patch Joomla Source Files.
click to patch    Patch SMF Source Files (Note: Unpatch before upgrading SMF or installing mod.)
done [verify]    Optional: Synchronize Joomla and SMF users(username or real name).

The Forum-Search did not return anything fiting to my issue.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,
sorry for letting you wait so long, usually, thats not my behavior!
I had to fix some other Problems with my page-design and in real-life at work.

Then i tried, what Montty posted, but it did not fix my problem.
I also changed the lines from 92, because the Style of the Welcome-Text also didn't fit in my page. That brought php-failures when loading the page, so I decided to uninstall the module and reinstall it.

Now my problem is solved. Don't ask me why, but it works now!
I don't remember whether i set the field "Module Class Suffix". This time, i did not. So my Page is almost ready for takeoff.
If you want, have a look: http://www.tacforum.de

I think, it's not necessary any more, to post my html. If so (e.g. to reengeneer that issue), please let me know.
Thanks for your help-offers.

Ok, let me rework the session times.  Thought I had this whipped, but apparently not.  Expect a patch today.

would it help, if i offer you an account for joomla and ftp? i'll be out for the next 3 or 4 hours (i've to leave immediately), so i can setup that, later. you could use it to see the problem an test it yourself...

9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Joomla! 1.0.8 on: March 06, 2006, 05:19:56 PM
First, that error should not continually occur.  Second, most use an optional login module.  We have one here as I provided in the other post.

the results of my tests were, that this error occurs continuously Sad
I'll try to recover the old (partially functioning) version, so you can have a look, youself.

the loginform you suggested to me, is really cool - i like it!

/edit:

i restored the old config: joomla 1.0.8; smf 1.1rc2 and com_joomla_smf_forum_1.1.zip
feel free and have a look at xxxx

/edit:
that issue is beeing retired due to great support in the latest version!

what i wanted to say is, that installing the component went without any errors.
the error listet above occured, when i tried to login after installing the new version.

I see. I'll have to wait for a fix.
The only way to prevent my Users from having that error would be, to avert them from using the SMF-Login-Form (!?)

Sorry, my english seems not to be good enough, to extract the appropriate information. With that error, you cannot run a board, so how do others short-circute that issue?

This problem only occurs if logging in from SMF initially.
This is not an initial problem for me but occurs also on 2nd and 3rd login.

Hi, I installed that - now I've problems with any Login-Form.
When pressing the loginbutton, a blank site with following error occurs.
I did unpatch the old Version and uninstall it, installed the new by manual. everything worked fine without errors...

13  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Joomla-SMF Community Builder Login/Auth Plugin on: March 06, 2006, 02:28:54 PM
ok, i see. on my first post, i'm outing as an idiot - i feel a bit sheepish about that.  Embarrassed

so, i do not use the community builder - perhaps, i should do! could it help to solve any of my problems? is it recommended to bridge joomla with smf?

i hope i don't bore you to death with my noob-questions an my bad english.
14  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Joomla-SMF Community Builder Login/Auth Plugin on: March 06, 2006, 02:14:29 PM
Hi, sorry for disturbing, but I still cannot install it. I'va already unpacked the file. after all, i found out, that i have to upload the plugin to my smf, not to joomla. (am I right?) but the smf packet-manager says, the file is broken or invalid.
What should I do now? Am I too st$p$d? Could it be the german language-pack of my SMF?
15  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Joomla! 1.0.8 on: March 06, 2006, 02:02:11 PM
Hi,
I'm running Joomla 1.0.8; SMF1.1RC2 and COM-JSMF1.1 (everything completely new installed). These are my first trys with SMF, so I don't know, if it's my fault or general Problems.
Unfortunately, it's not running as it should. The Integration seems ok, but I have some login problems.
when i try to login a user in smf, i get an errormessage, saying "Incorrect username or password. Please try again"
What could I do to fix that? It would be ok for my, if I could just fade out all the login- and register-forms from SMF - so any User-Action would occour from Joomla. Is that easy to do, or does anybody know a better way?
thx
Bene

/Edit: I found out, that I can login with SMF, when I leave the password blank, on first try (of cause, login fails). On the 2nd try, the login is successful...  Huh
