I have noticed that you have two boxes at the start of the page with the latest forum posts and latest downloads.

I also want to do that but I don't know how exactly. I found the latest forum posts for joomla smf, but where can I find the latest downloads or even how can I fix a box like this? 

I have just became a member of the Joomla community (I was using until recently Postnuke CMS) and I don't know much yet. If anyone could help me out I would be very greatful.
