OK well I got rid of the menu that joomla-smf created and created a new menu item as you said and pointed it towards the component.  Works like a charm, even the login  and stuff now.  Thank you so much.

So why did joomla-smf create this?

So I will just disable that link for right now.  But I want to know why it created it and is it going to cause problems with joomla-smf?  Something does not seem right.

OK here is the deal.  My site has been up for over 2 years.  It is so-so and needs work.  So I have set a goal for myself.  The goal is to fix, repair or add something to my site every day now until things are looking a lot better.

I have so many problems with this component and need figure it out.

The point of this is so if you register in Joomla or in SMF you are automatically registered in the other correct?  Also if you login too one then you are automatically logged into the other?

I just really do not think this component is being used to its full potential for me.

So one thing at a time.  How do you import a member list from Joomla into smf and also from smf to Joomla.  I am sure this sounds very st$p$d but I have to start somewhere.

LOL I forgot that I tried this before and got this error before when I was trying to sync the user names.  I get a huge list but it all repeats, just with different names.


Anyone know the answer to this?

When at the / com_smf / install install area it seems that nothing happens when I click
Patch Joomla Source Files.

or

Patch SMF Source Files (Note: Unpatch before upgrading SMF or installing mod.) Any help would be great, thank you.
