1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Synchronize Users on: March 08, 2006, 03:49:19 PM
Wolverine,

Thanks for the reply but nope, I searched for the username SunLite and found that they used the email xxxx@SunLite.ca (used x's to protect the person) then did a search of all tables in the database for that email and it shows up once in jos_users and once in smf_members so no dupes. I wonder if this is some of the cause of the other login and sync problems that I am having? I am begining to think that I am going to have to wipe out and start over. At the moment all new registration are not getting into SMF and there is now no way to put them in as the sync does not work either, my site is effectivly down for the count...
2  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / Re: Synchronize Users on: March 08, 2006, 01:24:55 PM
I noticed that whenever I try to syncronize I get the following error:

Code:
Syncing username SunLite Failed! This e-mail is already registered. If you forgot the password click on \"Lost your Password\" and new password will be sent to you.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Wolverine,

Just upgraded to all the latest and still have problems. When logging in, CB Login Mod, it gives a popup that says "Incorrect username of password, please try again." After you click on OK you are logged into joomla and if you were previously logged into SMF then you are still logged into that, if you were not then you still are not.

If logged into both and I logout of SMF I am also logged out of Joomla. Still seems to be a one way connection on mine. I do have the CB-Auth plugin installed, published and set to public. My guess is that 1.2 will help with this.

Thanks for all your hard work,

Wolverine,

Thanks, not sure what is up. I have many components as well as other CB plugins that work just fine. Seems SMF is where I have the most trouble and that is the most important part of my site. It seems I am always the odd man out with these problems/solutions. I will wait fro your debug thing, if there is anything I can do to make this easier please let me know. You can have full access to my site if needed.

Thanks for the heads up but it is published and it does not work for me, story of my life. Getting late here, will play with it some more tomorrow.

Thanks for all the hard work but so far this has made no diferance for me. When I log into Joomla with the CB login I am logged into Joomla but must still login to SMF a second time.

Wolverine,

Thanks for all your hard work and support to all of us. I don't think any of us feel "stuck with you" but we welcome a second set of eyes and hands from Cowboy. It can only get better with the expertise of the 2 of you.

Wolverine,

Glad to hear you tracked down the problem. I think they side tracked it due to the workflows that they use. Many of us with CB use the workflows so are locked into the CB login for that reason. If you use other logins most of them ignor the workflow so they are not good for us taht use the workflow functions. With the plugin that you are working on will we still have to install the Joomla-SMF module or will this all be self contained in the plugin? Also the next question is now that you have installed CB do you like it? I hope so because if you do that will mean better CB support.

Again thanks for all you do,

Rick

Wolverine,

That is great news, the timing could not be better for me. I just got back from a week long trip to Cancun Mexico, I was not looking forward to coming home and addressing all of the issues related to the intigration on my site. You can imagine my pleasure and releif to find this post as it was one of the first things that I came accross when I got home. Thanks for all your hard work to make our lives better.

Not sure what you need docs for, couldn't be simpler;

Module class suffix: Not sure, I left it blank
SMF tables prefix: The Prefix used in your database. Usually smf_
Recent topic count: How many recent topics do you want to display, I used 10
Display board name:  Self explanitory
Topic title length: How much of the topic title do you want to display
Display topic date and time:  Self explanitory
Display real name:  Display real name or user name
PHPNuke Marquee Scrolling ---------------------------------

Marquee scrolling:  Do you want the topics to scroll
Scroll direction:  Self explanitory
Scroll amount:  Play with it then test the results, I have mine on 2
Scroll delay: Play with it then test the results, I have mine on 20

For the Patch problem you need to change the permissions of 3 files/folders and they are

smf/Sources 777
smf/Sources/index.php 777
smf/Sources/Subs-Post.php 777

Wolverine,

Sorry for the eye problems  Wink It may very well be CB. I started fresh on a spare domain that I have and installed Joomla 1.07, SMF 1.1 RC2 and CB since that is the configuration that I use on my live site and it did not work either. I will go back in tomarrow if I get time and wipe out everything including the databases and just do Joomla and SMF. If that works then we will know that it is something to do with CB. If I don't get to this tomorrow it will not be to next week as I am off to Cancun Mexico for a week after that.
15  Joomla Hacks / Mambo-SMF 1.3.x / Re: need to make forum wrap smaller on: January 31, 2006, 07:08:09 PM
This problem happens with fixed width templates. I would try to find a variable width template. Here is a demo of one at

http://www.templates.mamboteam.com/index.php?mos_change_template=247portal-broad

If you would like to download it to try it on your site go to

http://www.mamboteam.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=47&func=fileinfo&filecatid=11&parent=folder

I know that you may not like this template but it might give you ideas on how to modify yours in a similar way. Fixed width 3 column templates just don't provide enough space to display forums well.

Good luck,
