I can give you my tweaked files for SMF specially optimized for UTF-8. They are not intended for open distribution, because Lewis media are behaving like a dog on the haystack - they would not develop a UTF8 version, but they would not allow you to distribute one. So if you need it badly, please post your request to the English or Russian forum at http://www.joomla-bg.org/forum and I will share with you my tweaked files. Hopefully not breaking any license
Here is a quick tip on how to integrate phpAdsNew to Joomla.
So, by doing what is advised in the article, I would have the phpAdsNew installed on ads.joomla.dom show up as a component on joomla.dom, is that the case? And there will be no need for Publishers and Advertisers to register on ads.joomla.dom - they could be registered members of joomla.dom, yes or no? And phpAdsNew can be installed in a different DB too, the integration will still work or not?
I am asking this because I've got probably the wrong impression that what you suggest is a full integration of the program phpAdsNew, not an integration of the ads generated by the program.
If the two bases (Joomla - user_db1, and SMF - user_db2) have the same user and password, one should only change the SMF prefix in the configuration to sound like this
Thanks to Stefan indeed, and don't forget to remove http://www.joomla-austria.at from the joomlahacks section, otherwise users would land in Austria when logging out.
It is the patched 1.0.9. But there are no reasons why the new 1.0.10 index.php should not work with the latest bridge. I just realized mine was not working because of different owners.
I started with a server from servermatrix, but then changed it for a Total Control server from TP. The servers are excellent, the support is quick, you have a remote console and reboot - and if they fail, the tech persons would reboot it in 6-7 minutes after a ticket is opened.
If you want almost the same server but three times cheaper go shopping with the www.server4you.de
