Usually, this stuffs installs and works quickly in linux systems. But for windows/iis... it's a pain.

From Joomla backend, you can create an RSS module feed. Just go on module, then click "New".... you'll see options there where you can put a feed url.

Normally, you only need 777 for components, modules, etc. So that the installer can write the files.

But if you are no longer installing, I think you can just do 755 to all.

Besides, the installation will tell you if certain paths is unwritable.

try using fixed size instead of percentage.

Well, that update installer sucks. It looks like the update is trying a new install that's why you get that error.

Your options:
1. backup your letterman tables then upgrade.
2. Or export your data then re-install.

I would suggest 1 because i'm not sure about their export integrity. Unless the update confirms that it can import the xml export.

You can only customize stuffs for modules, not for components.

I doubt if someone will work on this typr of module or component. This is not popular. Maybe you can pay someone to make it for you.
