1  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.0.x / Another login problem after upgrade to Joomla 1.0.3 on: October 14, 2005, 09:08:26 AM
I didn`t wanted to start a new post so I post here.
This is another login related problem. I have just updated Joomla! CMS to 1.0.3 and seems the smf_login module doesn`t work anymore. I keep trying to login but all the time brings me to the Home Page even if I`m on the SMF wrapped page, and gives me the login, dosen`t show me loggin at all.
Only the login from SMF is working. And also after I`m logged (using SMF login) when I try to logout from the smf_login module shows me as logged in.
You might check if there isn`t some changes that makes this when patching to Joomla! 1.0.3

Respekt, Cristian.
2  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.0.x / Re: SURVEY - How can we improve the installation / configuration process? on: October 07, 2005, 05:03:10 AM
I think the component is easy to install.. or upgrade.
All you need to do is read _README_FIRST.txt. Unpatching, changing SMF DB prefix and setting the path is not a hard thing to do. And all this can be made from the component settings back into Admin panel. They are some things like permission (changing files to 777 or other attributes) but this is required even with Joomla! files, and if you can do it there .. hell you can do it with this Bridge also.
As I can see it .. would be great only to improve the way it works. I use the latest 1.0.1b ... and there are some things that dosen`t work (session dosen`t keeps as it should be, after logging using mod_smf_login_1.1 brings me at the frontpage and not at Forum - I would like to keep me after login to the current page), but as I sayd .. the rest is OK. Great Bridge and SMF should work with you on this.. as I read theyr posts ... this is not official bridge, and still your component is supported by Joomla! community as SMF should do also.
Keep up the good work.

Cristian.
3  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.0.x / Re: user manager problems (Joomla) on: October 04, 2005, 11:37:01 PM
I think one solution would be to set off the edit profile on the forum.
As I`m using this forum as ranked one.. and the Grunst (registered members) are allowed to see only one board called "Ambbasy" and they have to post something in my language before I can grant them access to the forum, well I have to edit theyr profile and change status to Members from Grunst every time. This makes some changed into some Joomla users, don`t know the path.. but sometimes is my username, sometime the ones I edit.

Hope you could fix this as soon as possible. Thanks.

P.S.: I`ll install version 1.0.1a right away.

Well not quite.. I just whanted to sync 11 new users, but both my Super Administrator accounts have been form the beggining there.. I used them for 2-3 days, and the change of password was when I had both users working on forum and joomla.
I don`t know how it`s working..but as I sayd here..I was unable to login, and since has altered my accounts , in the email was also blank, that made useless my Forgot Password feature.
I`m saying what happent just to help, belive me I have no intention to lie or something.. but this has to be checked since I believe feedback can only improve something, and I do like this Bridge.

Thanks for answering, Cristian.

This is also something I had to deal also.. both my Super Administrator accounts (admin & ateul) did not work.
When I looked at the tables (using phpMyAdmin) .. the Joomla-SMF Bridge has altered my two SuperA accounts changing the encripted password to this: mambohacks.com (the previous version used something like MAMBOHACK).
Could someone explain how come?
And also only the user was left as it was, others fields (name & email) blanks. I changed the password withe the encripted one from my mysql back-ups.
If I had none I would have 2 Super Administrators with not working passwords.

I hope this helps improve the J-SMF Bridge, that except those I have just sayd it`s great.

Respekt, Cristian.
