I tried to make it work and couldn't get it... so I made another template without the right columns and assigned that one to the forum menu with a choice to go to a smaller forum on the top menu. Works fine... just not as sexy as Admins.  Wink

I'm not sure I follow you by making sure that no one can go directly to the main SMF url. How would I block it and drive them through registration.

Add the code as admin said or if you have CPANELl as your admin panel for your site just click on the redirect button and fill in the info.

Arghh! I'm trying to get a better color scheme on my forum so I installed another theme. Didn't like it but now I get the same error above when I try to change back to the other theme.

No one else having this problem?

It looks fine when you use a real browser like firefox  Wink, but to make it look good under IE go to your index.template.php file in your forums template direct and change:

/* What document type definition is being used? (for font size and other issues.)
      'xhtml' for an XHTML 1.0 document type definition.
      'html' for an HTML 4.01 document type definition. */
$settings['doctype'] = 'xhtml';

to

/* What document type definition is being used? (for font size and other issues.)
      'xhtml' for an XHTML 1.0 document type definition.
      'html' for an HTML 4.01 document type definition. */
   $settings['doctype'] = 'html';

That should take care of it.

At the risk of sounding st$p$d... this code goes in the mambo template index.php file, right?

I gotta have the Wide View|Full View|Menu View thingy but I'm getting over my head.

When I change from default to classic template and I click on any category I get the error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare template_init() (previously declared in /home/[username]/public_html/boards/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code:32) in /home/[username]/public_html/boards/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 30

I deleted the user from mambo, the user logged back in and has member access but the member does not show up under the mambo users.  Huh

I'm just wondering how that error would occur? You just changed the role.

Yep, All I did was to try and change the role and it wouldn't let me until I disabled unique email.  Huh

Wow... thanks, that worked perfectly.   Cool
12  Joomla Hacks / Mambo-SMF 1.2.x / Won't change user to another group on: April 03, 2005, 10:24:40 PM
After smf integration I tried to change a user from 'registered' to 'author' and got a "duplicate email address error".

Work-around by setting 'Require Unique Email:' to no.

Can the smf template change after setting up the bridge. I tried and got the following error when I clicked on anything within the forum:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare template_init() (previously declared in /home/raov/public_html/smf/Sources/Load.php(1100) : eval()'d code:32) in /home/raov/public_html/smf/Sources/Load.php(1100) : eval()'d code on line 30

Nothing happened no matter what I did to the mod_smf_login.php... so I made all the modules smaller by 5px and it looks better.
15  Joomla Hacks / Mambo-SMF 1.2.x / Login box too large on: April 03, 2005, 09:11:00 PM
Install went smooth and everything seems to work fine. Only thing is the login-box is too large. I went to mod_smf_login.php and tried to make the table smaller but it won't change. How can I get the login box the same size as the rest of the modules on the page?

thanks!
