The install of the component said successful. When I uninstall and reinstall, the same problem occurs...

After checking the error and the file locations... this file:
D:/INETPUB/011/components/com_smf/language/english.php
... was actually in this folder ...
D:/INETPUB/011/administrator/components/com_smf/language/english.php

If I edit the admin.smf.php to fix the path, I get taken to the config page, but there are a TON of other errors as well (other paths broken, such as: there is no "functions.smf.main.php" file, but there is a "functions.smf.php").

I checked the Administration folder on the server and there was no error_log file or folder in there. Where else would I look?
5  Joomla Hacks / Mambo-SMF 1.2.x / Forums have ALOT of lag time and timeouts on: May 04, 2006, 03:21:20 PM
Everytime I come to this forum, the load time is LONG and I even get some time-outs. Can anything be done to speed things up?

Please download the attached file and put it in "/administrator/components/com_smf".

Let me know if this solved the issue.

Ok, I kept trying and I was finally able to download the file.

I was getting the following error, on a blank page:
Quote
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

So I download the admin.smf.php file, and uploaded to my server ... now I get the following errors:
Quote
Warning: main(D:/INETPUB/011/components/com_smf/language/english.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\INETPUB\011\administrator\components\com_smf\admin.smf.php on line 27

Warning: main(): Failed opening 'D:/INETPUB/011/components/com_smf/language/english.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in D:\INETPUB\011\administrator\components\com_smf\admin.smf.php on line 27

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: mambosmflanguage in D:\INETPUB\011\administrator\components\com_smf\admin.smf.php on line 30

Got an ideas what else I could try? Please help.

Whenever I try to download this file, I get a server "timeout" error. Is there somewhere else to download this?

9  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / CGI Error when configuring Joomla-SMF on: May 03, 2006, 04:40:56 PM
I have installed SMF and Joomla. Joomla runs fine, and so does the forum. When I install the Joomla-SMF Component via Joomla, I get an "installation successful" message. I followed all the prerequisites and compatibility requirements.

BUT, when I following the NEXT step in the installation:
Quote
Select 'Joomla-SMF'->'Configuration' from menu labeled 'Components'
I get a white page with the following error message:
Quote
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

Please help. I dont know what is going wrong.

11  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 1.1.x / jos_ prefix requirement on: May 03, 2006, 12:13:39 AM
I downloaded the Joomla-SMF component.... and when I did I saw the pre-requisite for the joomla prefix ...

     'jos_' for Joomla

What if we setup Joomla so long ago with another prefix. Does that mean that we wont be able to use the SMF? Is there any way to work around this?
