287  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Sync Users Manually? on: August 08, 2007, 12:44:30 AM
Search the forums for Illegal mix of collations or collation (this has something to doe that SMF and Joomla! are using now two different collations

Example:
Joomla! is using latin
SMF is using UTF-8

This can cause problems during syncing etc.....

Hi... Grin
another problem...if i login from the module smf_login i get:

You are not authorised to view this resource.

else if i login from the forum i can ogin...what's the problem?

This is normally caused by setting the Forum link to Registered access. This causes Joomla to disallow the login because the URL used to log a user into SMF is controlled as a registered link only. To work around this, Graham Ball posted this method on the Joomlahacks forums:
It is possible to do this by creating two Forum menu items. The first one is 'not published' and set to 'Public' access and the second one is 'published' and set to 'Registered' access. You must make sure that the 'Itemid' parameter shown in the SMF Component installation options points to the id of the first (i.e. unpublished + Public) Forum menu for it to work.

291  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: How i can insert a link in a "contact us" component? on: August 07, 2007, 11:53:03 AM
you can make a clickable link in the Miscellaneous Info:
You have to use HTML code for this Wink
Code:
<a href="http://superdaantje.nl/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,17/">Onsforum.</a><br />

Or when you want somthing else you can take a look at an other contact form Wink

292  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: SMF Registration on: August 07, 2007, 12:42:09 AM
The main reason that I first refer to the User Guide is that most users are not reading it carefully. The User Guide is made not only help the user with the installation but also to understand how the Bridge is working.. This means that not all questions are not answered latterly but when you know the basics you can help your self with the user guide.

And most basics questions are answered before on the forums.

It is not about getting a better post count. But when you have read the forums you had all ready known. Think you have to read the forums first before you give reply’s like this. Wink

So on topic:
Where did you select the SMF registration and how (maybe screen shot)
What loging module are you using.

I did a small test on my test environment with the 2.0.2.1 and for me it works on an basic installation off J! 1.0.13 and the SMF CSV release (also known as 1.1.4)

297  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Problems with user sync! on: August 01, 2007, 03:22:53 PM
Joomla 1.0.13
SMF 1.1.3
Joomla-SMF 2.0.2

I've tried that, but whenever i try to login i get "Incorrect Password".

Edit:

I thin i may have solved the problem, i used Joomla 1.0.12 instead. Seems the bridge doesn't support 1.0.13 yet, when can i/we expect see a new versin?

Please search the forums. This is disused all ready…. At this moment the tester team is testing the new version. When the testing wends ok then you will see the news on the forums. At this moment we can not say when there is a public version of the Bridge. First the new release have to be tested before it can be released.

So just check the forums so now and then for the update Wink

298  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Problems with user sync! on: August 01, 2007, 02:05:27 PM
Please also mention the versions you use and witch registration you are using.

The user sync is when the user is logged in the first time. So if you use the Joomla! registration the user has to logging first trough Joomla! before the user is be synced.
