1  Joomla Hacks / Feedback / Re: Joomla SMF Feature Suggestion on: October 25, 2008, 07:33:25 AM
I know JSMF was abandoned. But my bridged forum is not dead.

So I hope to find something still can support this bridge.

Dear baijianpeng,

I really cant understand…. you where so negative on several forums about JSMF the past year. And now you are asking for Support and future development? Isn’t this a little bit strange?

Please stop complaining on all kind of forums about the SMF Bridges for Joomla. There is all ready explained to you why there is no more Bridge like the Simple Machines and Joomlahacks. You are also informed about the issues in the GPL licence between J! and SMF.

Please stop complaining and move on Cheesy

Kind Regards,
Daan aka Livebox

First: search the forums

There is no active development and active support on Joomlahacks any more.

You can use the Bridge but this is at your own risk. @ his moment the bridges seems to work with SMF 1.1.6

Advise always make bakck ups.

Sorry, so as you could read on the forums there is no more development for the Bridge. This means for you that when this is an bug this will be not resolved.

You can try the to search the forums for topics before June 2007

You van try this

10  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: User Sync + Password length on: September 09, 2008, 11:49:51 AM
The admin part is also covered in the User Guide Wink

When you have J! 1.0.13 or higher please do not use the sync option. This is a little bit buggy

You get the best support @ Simplemachines.org. Orstio is still supporting the Bridge. And on the forums you will find also some work around/solutions to make it work with J! 1.0.15 Wink

When I’m right then you have to make an J! module with the SSI functions of SMF. You need some PHP experience to do this ;-)

The best forums to ask this is the Simplemachines forums maybe the Joomla forums.
15  Joomla Hacks / Joomla-SMF 2.0.x / Re: Problem with login and sync on: September 04, 2008, 03:35:00 PM
I think that the columns in tables jos_smf_members.memberName and jos_users.name were different collation/encoding in mysql –Think you have to change the collations to utf8 in smf or the Joomla tables
