Title: User Sync + Password length Post by: huxley on September 02, 2008, 05:37:58 AM Hey guys.
Was using an older 1.x bridge until a few days ago, but now upgraded my site components as well as the bridge. My current setup is: J! 1.0.12 SMF 1.1.5 JSMF 2.0.x and before I installed JSMF, I added CB 1.1 to my installation. This setup is running fine, besides a few issues: 1. Login is set to CB Login. Some Users are not logged into SMF properly, and are told there password would be wrong. It appears that those users, that have a J/CB password with less than 8 chars cant log into the forum, as SMF requires at least 8 chars for a pw. I cannot find a way to fix this, basically I would like to have the CB login for SMF regardless of the pw length. 2. User Sync. With the old bridge, I had a button in the bridge's backend config to synch smf users to joomla or the other way round. How is this done 2.x? The Tools just let me hit sync and the decscription is "sync CB with Joomla", but no word on SMF. There is as well no way to set which SMF rank matches which J/CB rank. What do you suggest, how should I set a users rank and how do I populate this new rank to the other website parts? 3. The SMF Admin Area is unwrapped. The Rest of the SMF wraps fine, even the fix for quotes is working, but the admin area gets knocked off the wrapping. Any ideas? I was very happy to see the improvements from the 1.x bridge to 2.x, a bity that it isn't developed any further. Best Regards, hux Title: Re: User Sync + Password length Post by: locutus on September 09, 2008, 10:36:57 AM Hey guys. The CB plugin is quite buggy. I recommend SMF's "Custom profile" mod. SMF is way better with handling users anyway. Was using an older 1.x bridge until a few days ago, but now upgraded my site components as well as the bridge. Please search the forum for this issue. It has been covered before. When you have J! 1.0.13 or higher please do not use the sync option. This is a little bit buggy
