Title: very simple url link question
Post by: Adam on May 22, 2008, 11:13:00 PM
Running
Joomla! 1.0.15
Joomla-SMF version: 2.0.2.1
SMF version is: 1.1.4
Your Joomla version is: 1.0.15
CB 1.1

Joomla-SMF created a link in my main menu to

http://journeyoftheanimals.com/index.php/smf/ (http://journeyoftheanimals.com/index.php/smf/)

The proper link would be http://journeyoftheanimals.com/petchat (http://journeyoftheanimals.com/petchat)

So why did joomla-smf create this?

I have SMF Absolute Path: in install set to
Quote
/home/jota/public_html/petchat

So I will just disable that link for right now.  But I want to know why it created it and is it going to cause problems with joomla-smf?  Something does not seem right.

I can hardly imagine that JSMF did this. Because you don't need a "Link - URL" in your menu but a "Component - Joomla SMF" link. You create one this way:
administration > menu > mainmenu > new > choose "Component" > Fill in "Forum and choose "Joomla SMF Forum"> save. That should do it.

OK well I got rid of the menu that joomla-smf created and created a new menu item as you said and pointed it towards the component.  Works like a charm, even the login  and stuff now.  Thank you so much.
