Title: issue about subdomain and urls Post by: vik_ on March 11, 2008, 04:51:00 PM Hi to all
I've got joomla+smf+bridge and all seems work fine except one moment. I've got my site at zz.mysite.com and smf at forum.mysite.com. When a user logged in from site and went to forum by url like "zz.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35" everything is good. But when the same user went to forum via forum.mysite.com he was not logged in, so he could entered as another user at the same moment. So I'd like to have all links to forum like forum.mysite.com/zzzz (instead of zz.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35) and that all users who logged in at site are being logged in at forum via url forum.mysite.com. I use these options: Use local cookies - false Subdomain independent cookies - false Store sessions in DB - true Any ideas how to manage that? A lot of thanks in advance.. Please read the user Guide for more info.
The Simple Machines Bridge has this option. But this one also has been stopped. (the development Title: Re: issue about subdomain and urls Post by: vik_ on March 15, 2008, 04:09:39 AM So it's impossible to solve my task, isn't it?
Title: Re: issue about subdomain and urls Post by: Superdaantje on March 17, 2008, 04:22:45 PM It is not impossible but you have to know how the bridge is working and you have to know PHP. You have to Wright the function your self there is no Developer left to do this for you.
It was on the Road Map for the new JSMF version, but unfortinally the Development has been stopped. Only the Simple Machines Bridge had this option. But is not distributed any more. Reason the GPL licence. Title: Re: issue about subdomain and urls Post by: vik_ on March 21, 2008, 04:20:03 AM Ok, I tried to figure out how to do that, but the architecture of the bridge is quite difficult for me. What's the general idea for such a task? I mean I am a programmer and don't ask to write a code. Just I can't understand in which direction I must search and I need some good ideas. I have to synchronize sessions for both subdomains, don't I? If so how to do that? Could you help me? Thanks.
Title: Re: issue about subdomain and urls Post by: Superdaantje on March 21, 2008, 06:46:53 AM Sorry I can’t help you. I’m not involved with the Bridge any more. I’ve switched to the mambo foundation and to the test team from Simple Machines and testing there the mambo Bridge in conjunction with SMF 2.0 ;-)
Its not only the syncing off the database but also some sessions have to be changed and the cookies etc. Its not so Simple as it seems. The JSMF Bridge never had this option, it was on the road map. But the development has stopped in June 2007. Sorry. The only Bridge that has this option was the Simple machines Bridge. But this bridge is not distributed any more and the Simple Machines license does not allow the distribution off this bridge. So downloading en distributing it is illegal. Kind regards, Daan Title: Re: issue about subdomain and urls Post by: vik_ on March 21, 2008, 07:26:37 AM Ok, thanks a lot Daan, will try to find something in smf.
