Title: JSMF 2.0.2.1
Post by: Kevin8020 on August 02, 2007, 12:51:14 AM
Alright, it's here! JSMF 2.0.2.1 fixes all incompatibility with Joomla 1.0.13. It also works with Joomla 1.0.12, and probably all previous version. I have tested:
  • 1.0.13 new install - No issues
  • 1.0.12 new instal - No issues
  • 1.0.12 upgraded to 1.0.13 - No issues

This bridge also has a bit better integration with the SMF login boxes, so that's a tiny bit of incentive for the 1.0.12 users to upgrade.

Enjoy!! Please, report any bugs here.

NOTE: For people who wish to upgrade from 2.0.2, simply upload the new smf.class.php file into components/com_smf.

if you use the 202 version in combination with J! 1012 is it better to uninstall the 202 and install the 2021 version before upgrading Joomla?
is it that simple?
People who visit the forum, are they affected when they visit the forum after the new bridge and J! 1013 is installed?

Might be good idea to make a zip with just the updated files so many will not have to reinstall bridge to update.

I will be doing a file compare to upgrade my setups.
If I do this soon I will post the list of files that were modified for this update.

It would be nice if Cowboy would qualify this and place it in the download area of site. I will start checking all the saloons on main street to see if I can find him. :)

I recently made a new install with Joomla 1.0.13 and SMF 2.0.2.1 and epxerienced problems, i temporarily used the earlier versions of both software for testing and learning.

And now I've done the same setup for the new version(s), though I've followed the instructions as precise i could i still couldn't login correctly and the account i created when installing the forum, i get a blank page.

Blank page means a php error of some sort.
You need to look at your php_error log to help troubleshoot.

Yeah well done but now I do have the smiley-error thingy again :S and applying the 'patch' for that will make everything from 2.0.2.1 undone... I'm confused now :(

Is everything installed? SMF and Joomla!.

If so, your abasolute path is as such:

Eaxmple:
"/home/content/S/t/a/StarWolfX0/html/forums"

you may have something similar, but without the username.

After that, all you need to is patch the files. Click on "Patch" for both of them and you are good to go.

Make sure you verify to make sure everything is okay. That is it. It is not the hardest thing in the world. Try to learn to program this software! Now that is hard!

That is most important step.

Hey Kevin, thanks for your effort!

Does this version work properly with the latest CB (v1.1) (http://www.joomlapolis.com/content/view/3708/1/) using the CB-login? If not, could you please make it compatible?

Thank you so much!

PS: Someone make this sticky!

Nice component and great coding but i have still problems to login in the frontend.

new joomla 1.0.13
smf 1.1.3 from today
jsfm com 2.0.2.1 from this post
jsfm login module 2.0.4 from download area

if i patch joomla core files and sfm files in the component configuration i can't login into the frontend by using jsfm-module.
un-patch, the normal joomla login module works fine.

any idea?

What login option did you select in the admin of the Bridge?
Says the component that all files are patched?
Did you try an reinstall of the module? Or even the Bridge?

Just tested it on with this versions and works here ok ...

hi, I had also trouble in using JSFM 2.0.2.
I have joomla 1.0.12 and CB. But the installation guides for me are a bit confusing, cause I got always errors. Installing SMF bridge there was said that jos_ was a wrong prefix. Then I changed it into jos_, it was accepted, but then there was the message that Faild: no user sync possible because some table problems... meanwhile I'm getting a bit desperate~.

Well, I'll try it again, but then I'll give up. Anyone knows a friendly forum that integrates better with joomla?

Is there a manual that actually shows all the steps to follow when using smf bridge? And what does it mean that smf has to link to the same DB then Joomla? Does it mean that when we install smf in the first place we have to link it to the joomla DB? I tryied that too, and got other problems:
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/estcsite/public_html/tic/smf/install.php on line 1121

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/estcsite/public_html/tic/smf/install.php on line 1123

I'm soooo tired and angry! >:( Maybe it´s best to keep SMF separated from the joomla users. :'(

Did you installed the CB plugin....

Tip begin with the basics and install it with Joomla! and SMF and when this works you can go further with CB

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2.1
Post by: amelia on August 28, 2007, 02:55:33 PM
Thanks for the reply.
Well,I started a test page, this time in joomla 1.0.13. I have joomla installed and also CB 1.1 (do I have to uninstall it first?)
my qite domain is estcsite.
The DB of this Joomla site is named estcsite_tic113, the user is estcsite_tic113 as well, and has the jos_ prefix

Well, after reading the JSMF user guide 2.0 I'm thinking on doing this.

1- install SMF 1.1.3 and connect it to this Joomla DB, that is, when I'm asked by SMF install which DB user, I'll write estcsite_tic113 and for the DB I'll insert estcsite_tic113.

In the prefix field I'm thinking on deleting smf_ and write jos_. Am I right?

2- After this, I upload the com_smf2021 file and enter the data /home/.../forum and the prefix jos_.

So, when I'll do verify for user synch it should go well, or not?

Post by: Superdaantje on August 28, 2007, 03:00:50 PM
Please follow the steps in the user guide !!

SMF and Joomla! need to be installed in the same database!!
best way to install is Joomla! in the Root and SMF in a folder in the root like forum

Best to use for the database prefix is
for Joomla! jos_
for SMF smf_
this is set by default.... etc etc

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2.1
Post by: amelia on August 28, 2007, 03:07:55 PM
Hello,
yes, that is what I've done in the first place, I let it be smf_, but then, when I was installing the bridge it immediatly said that smf_ prefiz was wrong.
I had no idea what I was supposed to insert. But I'll try it again.

Anyway, if they have to be on the same DB, how can it be that Joomla has jos_ prefiz and smf smf_ prefix? If it is the same, then there should be the same DB username, DB pass, and DB prefix, right?

I really get confused by the part when it says that they have to be installed on the same DB, but then the prefixes have diferent names.
Sorry for my ignorance

OK, You're right... it was a users guide missreading problem. The erros did not appear...

Now... the thing that happens is that it does not patch the joomla source file
Failed: Code to be patched not found in file: require_once( 'includes/frontend.php' );/home/estcsite/public_html/tic113/index.php

but I'll look for them online... thanks again Superdaantje  8) :)

E/well I have the joomla 1.0.13 and smf 1.1.3, with com_smf2.0.2.1... is there a specific index.php patch for these versions? Still haven't found it...  ???

I suppose I can't use the 1.0.12 patch index... ???

/EDIT: it works, finally. I tried again and this time there was no error page. Don't know why I got it in the first place.

Now I just want the forum to open in a new window.. but I suppose that'll be easy!

Hello,

My site was hacked into a fishing site so I had to upgrade in a rush and  forgot to unpatch the files. After I could not unpatch it so I desinstalled and deleted everything including the index.htm jsback but I always have the same message : "Another component is already using directory: "/home/monstr/public_html/components/com_smf/" when  trying to install the component.

But the folder has been deleted and there is no other component associated to Jsmf ! I have searched the forums for hours but could not find any solution

Please help,

Thanks

Trying to figure out how to upgrade. I did what was said in the first post
Quote
NOTE: For people who wish to upgrade from 2.0.2, simply upload the new smf.class.php file into components/com_smf.

I uploaded the smf.class.php, but nothing changed, I still show 2.0.2 in my control panel?

I searched the site using 'Upgrade' and read through 4 pages of searches but nothing speaks directly to how to upgrade to latest version. Whenever I do find the question I only find "Search the forums" and "Read the User Guide".
I checked the user guide, several times and even used search for 'Upgrade' and again came up with nothing.

I am reasonably sure that all I need to do is go to the control panel > Components > Joomla-SMF Forums > Install > unpatch first and click to patch and verify.
But because I am unable find anything to confirm this, I'm a bit hesitant to begin.

Ok, just updated from 2.0.2a to this, and it has re-introduce the smiley pop up stripping problem.  Other than that, works fine Joomla 1.0.13 and SMF 1.1.4.  Any chance of a fix for the popup smiley stripping though, a la the 2.0.2a patch modified for this version?

Ok, I fixed my problem I had with the forums loading on the front page.  I do not know what caused it, but after doing a full re-install piece by piece of my website, component by component, module by module, the finished product worked perfectly.  Somewhere, something went wrong, but I do not think it was JSMF related.

However, I do have one question.  Does this version of JSMF have JACL support?  It would be real nice if I don't have to teach my clients how to place their users into a a specific usergroup in the Joomla admin AND in the forums admin.  Most of the time, they are too incompetent to do just one.....

Joomla version: 1.0.13
SMF version: 1.1.4
JSMF version: 2.0.2.1

When trying password recovery, it doesn't initialize db prefix in updatePass($id, $pass) of admin.smf.class.php

if I add
        global $jsmfConfig;
after
        global $database;
and change line
            "WHERE id = '$smf_id' ";
to
            "WHERE ID_MEMBER = '$smf_id' ";

it works better

Joomla 1.0.13
smf 1.1.4
cb 1.1.0

I have been reading, re-reading, and re-reading again for ages, and nothing is getting me past the "code to be patched not found in..." problem when I try to patch the Joomla source file (index.php). permissions on both the root directory and the file are set to allow them to be written to, but the error is not about permissions.

Basically, will this bridge work with the above configuration???

I guess I should have mentioned in my first post that I had already tried to use thisd bridge version that you mention Rezet. I did not mention it because I thought people would have been intelligent enough to realise that if I had read all the posts regarding this bridge, then I clearly would have found this post you mention. Obviously I was wrong.

I have been to many different forums, searching for an answerto this configuration. I have not found a suitable solution on any of them.

But, after seeing what has happened at this site recently, I think something with more focus on security is a wiser move anyway.

Hi

I have Joomla SMF 2.00 with Joomla 1.0.2 and CB. Where Could I find some guide to upgrade?. I think that the steps are:
- 1 Uninstall CB
- 2 Unistall Joomla SMF
- 3 Upgrade Joomla 1.0.12 to 1.0.13
- 4 Install Joomla 2.0.2.1

Is it correct?

In _isValidUser of smf.class.php (jsmf 2.0.2.1)

$mos needs to be initialized to false before the two

if ((strpos($data->password, ':') === true))

clauses that reference it, because otherwise the variable will be out of scope when it is checked after the initial if clauses. I'm pretty sure the original code of inner if clauses in first part of those clauses can be shortened to just

if ($hash == $cryptpass) {
    //CORRECT password
    $mos = true;
}

after this change, because it is pointless to set variable to its default value second time.

Where are you guys downlading this from. I went to the download section and didnt find it.

is there a conflict?  should i install into another directory, or rename a directory?  thanks in advance

I patched to 2.0.2.1 and don't have forum login issues anymore, but I have much bigger problem - what is supposed to be my Joomla homepage address opens SMF homepage. I have tried all possible login options in component config, but nothing seems to work. I can only see my Joomla site when I set that SMF is wrapped. Even when I set redirect to Joomla on logout doesn't work. :(

When you read the forums you will notice that the Developer and those how did the Support for the Bridge are inactive.
Wolverine has stopped developing the Bridge.
I have stopped with official support on JH. We both have announced this several months ago on the forums. See sticky on this forums ;)

And there is no one that has picked up the project. Kevin updated the bridge for J! 1.0.13. But there are no update’s planed in the near future so far I know.

This is one of the main reasons many users that want a bridge for SMF are migrating to Mambo. And there is also coming an Mambo bridge for SMF 2.0 ;)

Great update; it fixed my 'remember me' problem, where the Community Builder login wouldn't remember a user when the cache time was passed or the browser was closed. Sadly that it's not in the official downloads, because I think everyone with J1.0.13 should have this version installed.

Woah, it's been a while since I last logged in here :P

I just upgraded J 1.0.11 to 1.0.14(together with CB1.1 and JSMF 2.0 RC3) 10 mins ago and found out JSMF isn't working as it should. First thought that came to mind is how the new JSMF isn't made to hash the password together with a salt. The fix is actually very simple (without the need to reinstall with this JSMF 2.0.2.1). Wanted to post it here, but found there's already a good thread on it.

I'm assuming you already have the official JSMF 2.0 installed.

Just open Joomla's index.php (AFTER patching) and search for the part where Joomla controls login. You should see a bunch of text that JSMF's patching added:
Quote
   //JOOMLAHACKS.COM
   $_SESSION['USER_AGENT'] = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
   $_SESSION['_FROM_MOS'] = TRUE;
   $_SESSION['_RETURN'] = $return;
   $jsmf->doLogin(true);
Just add "$mainframe->login();" above that chunk. What this does is to go through logging in process twice; 1st through J's framework (which is capable of handling the new password hashing), and then let jsmf's login class takeover (which includes another round of Joomla login, only this time it's redundant since it doesn't handle the new hashing, and $mainframe has already done the logging in for it.

Not the most elegant, of course, but it works. The problem comes when you have other 3rd party crap to bridge (Iono licensing in my case). This is because if you try to re-create a Joomla login on your 3rd party software, you pretty much lose all your globals. If that's the case, ignore what I've typed above. You still can use the original JSMF (if you have already done so). Download JSMF 2.0.2.1 (attached to the first post on this thread), but there's no need to reinstall. Simply find the file smf.class.php and replace it in components/com_smf/smf.class.php. All the work/changes are mostly done on that file. What kevin did is to change the original crap in "$mos = ($data->password == md5(($password));" blah blah to work with J's new hashing method. Good job ;)

@Lars,

I have the exact same setup as you do.

SMF 1.1.4
JSMF 2.0.2.1
Joomla 1.0.15

I had issues with the 2.0.2 JSMF component. I just upgraded this morning to 2.0.2.1 (Just copy the 'smf.class.php' file over the same file in the '/components/com_smf' folder). You might want to go ahead and uninstall 2.0.2.1 and install and configure 2.0.2 and then copy that file over. Just something to try...

@All,

This component works great. I only have two requests for this though...

Can we have the option to set a fixed width for the wrapped forum inside Joomla!??? Maybe set a box next to the: 'Wrapped Integration Mode' to allow a pixel or % so the screen doesn't go past the width of the screen size.

OR

Can we have the option to modify the links under the Joomla-SMF Login to open the links in another window?

Awesome plugin!

Thank you and God bless,
Johnathan

Well thank you for the effort, but it did not help.

I think it maybe is a problem that is caused by some interference with my Virtuemart installation, but I cannot figure out how to solve it.

The error is:

Fatal error: Unknown(): The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition jsmffrontend of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ the session was started in /hsphere/local/home/bircon/sikkerkosmetik.dk/index.php on line 68

Which setup in Joomla/PHP should I change or what should I add to line 68 in index.php ?

Best regards/Lars Juhl

Joomla 1.0.15
JSMF 2.0.2.1
SMF 1.1.4

Works fine for new installation of both Joomla and SMF.
Unfortunately, all previously registered user accounts are need to be reactivated because of newly implemented password generation and storage procedure, as I can see. Former passwords are not valid anymore for entering Joomla-SMF account. Though you can login to SMF itself via http://www.yoursite.ru/forum with old password.
Therefore, each user has to pass through password restoration procedure using Joomla login module (username + E-mail). Having got new password user have to login via Joomla login module to enter Joomla-SMF account. All users can then change newly generated password for the previously set one.

Could someone please summarize or confirm?

If you are using J1.0.15, CB 1.1, SMF 1.1.4 and JSMF 2.0.2.1, then the password/login problem is resolved? Or not? From the majority of posts, I am thinking YES ... but can someone please confirm?

Should I do a CB synch of users?

Order of upgrade:
- unpatch JSMF 2.0.2
- upgrade to J1.0.15
- patch JSMF 2.0.2
- add patch to upgrade JSMF to 2.0.2.1?

Thanks!

Can you sticky this and add to the first post that you have to log in to download it? I spent too long trying to figure out how to get this update :-)

There's not even an indication that there is an attachment to the message... just that an update exists.... Also... why isn't it available from the Downloads page?

Thanks!

Hi,

So as you could see there is no more moderation on the forums. There is no Moderator around to make this a sticky. Wolverine and I are stopped in June 2007 on the JH forums. Note there is also no more development for the Bridge. Sorry

anyone using
joomla 1.0.14
smf 1.1.4
and bridge 2.0.2.1

İf you not using wraped mode its woirng nice but;

Wrapped mode i have some problems.
some of smf topics cant be opend -blank page comes

Exactly the same problem !
J1.0.15, CB 1.1, SMF 1.1.4 and JSMF 2.0.2.1
(All fresh install)

The problem occur only on wrapped mode and concern topic with more than 1 page and only if there is more than 11 posts per page.

That's very strange I don't understand why BUT the way to solve is quiet easy :
On SMF Admin go to Forum/Posts and Topics > Topic Settings > Number of posts per page in a topic page:
and write 11 or less (10 is good)

This problem does seem to be very quirky as has been noted here:

http://www.joomlahacks.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,94/topic,4589.msg20291#msg20291

Having said that, the solution posted by Stef does work with some revision in my case.

I found that topics with 12, 9, and 8 posts showed a blank page for admin and some users (once logged in) - when I reset the # of topics per page to 10, it helped but didn't resolve the issue. I had to set it to 8 - but now everything seems to work.

Very strange stuff indeed.

Anyone have any ideas why? And if there is a code hack to make this work?

Allan

Just an update...

The problem I'm having (wrapped forum w/ topics that won't show) has expanded to affect non-staff members of my site now. And it's not just topics that won't show... the whole forum disappears when trying to open certain topics. I can't downgrade php versions without switching to a new server & being that I just went through 3 days of hell with the last switch a week or two ago, I'm in no hurry to do it again so soon.

I'll pay for a fix if anyone has one!

Organic -

Did you try Stef's solution? I went down that road instead of making the php changes ... and it's seems to have addressed the issue. I tested JSMF 2.0.2.1 on my test server and it didn't have any issues either way ...

JSMF 2.0.2 won't work with Joomla higher then 1.0.13. Like the title of this topic you need JSMF 2.0.2.1.

Crossposted in main smf 1.1 forum...

Hi,
I upgraded to joom 1.0.15 this morning because of the 1.0.13 mod issues, and my smf bridge went down.

I uninstalled 2.0.2 and reinstalled 2.0.2_1 to get things working again, but it seems to have screwed up my SMF install.

Some of my smf mods are no longer working and my upgrade path in SMF is trashed, or at least SMF thinks its not going to work.

I need some help and information on what my options are.

I do not like my site operating this way, we've lost the ability to embed videos  as a community, and I've lost the ability to upgrade my forum without risking crashing the whole site.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me out on this...

Cheers,
Ron

Ok... this is a first for me. I am trying to configure SMF for a website. Here is what versions I am using:
Joomla 1.0.15
SMF 1.1.4
JSMF Bridge 2.0.2.1
Community Builder 1.1

I have everything installed, except the JSMF Bridge... where I am getting errors.  It says: SMF Forum is installed on the same database as Joomla and both Joomla source files and SMF source files have been patched successfully. I then click verify, and it gives me this error:
Failed:Error verifying user synchronization.: db_error:Table \\\'warrior_joomla.jos_members\\\' doesn\\\'t exist SQL=SELECT count(*) FROM jos_members LEFT JOIN jos_users ON jos_users.username=jos_members.memberName WHERE jos_users.username IS NULL1

I'm guess that I need to login to my forum and configure the server settings there maybe, which I tried to do.... but it says my database username and/or password is incorrect, which I got from my configuration.php file.

At this point I'm stuck. If you need more info, let me know. Thanks.

Matt

There is a quick and dirty way, but this is more secure. In your case it's recommended, because you have to upgrade everything.

  • note your settings JSMF in the JSMF configuration panel
  • set Joomla off line in the configuration
  • set SMF off line in the SMF administration
  • BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES!
  • BACK UP YOUR DATABASE!
  • In the installation tab of JSMF unpatch Joomla
  • In the installation tab of JSMF unpatch SMF
  • Uninstall JSMF
  • Upgrade Joomla 1.0.x according to the instructions
  • Upgrade SMF 1.1.x according to the instructions
  • Verify Joomla and SMF are working fine stand alone
  • Install the latest JSMF
  • In the installation tab of JSMF patch Joomla
  • In the installation tab of JSMF patch SMF
  • Configure JSMF like it was
  • set Joomla on line in the configuration
  • set SMF on line in the SMF administration

And off you go!

BTW did I mention to backup?  :P

Well I try the JMSF bridge for Joomla 1.015 and SMF 1.15 in my localhost and it works. However I have a problem. The Absolute SMF path in the Joomla Administration backend keep on changing.

Administrator>Components>Joomla-SMF forum>Install>SMF Abolute Path>C:wampwwwzogamforum

it is suppose to be C:\wamp\www\zogam\forum

Even after changing to the correct path... after a few minutes or clicks.. it revert back to C:wampwwwzogamforum

Whats going on?

The install went smoothly (Joomla 1.0.15 & SMF 1.1.5) but after patching the files in admin I get this error...

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/shetland/public_html/forum/SSI.php on line 1366

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/shetland/public_html/forum/SSI.php on line 1366

Line 1366 is this...

<div class="smaller">', $news['time'], ' ', $txt[525], ' ', $news['poster']['link'], '</div>

Anyone know what this problem could be?

EDIT: Fixed. The SSI.php file hadn't uploaded properly!

Hi everybody

i have this version installed in my Joomla 1.0.15 & SMF 1.1.5
but is not working...

maybe the problem is that i have installed my forum on a Subdomain http://FORUM.xxxxx.com
and this is pointing to a /FORUM folder in the root...

but in the instalation i put http://xxxxx.com/FORUM
and i was thinking about test changing the path....
in what file i need change the path after install?
in the backend, in the configuration of Jsmf is not possible.

Some idea?

In the backend you can alter the path in the installation tab. Please note that subdomains are tricky with the bridge. For a first install you should go for a subdirectory.

really i can not understand... i have installed the comp. and patched the files...
but is not working for me... and i trying in a directory path, not a subdomain now, but i still having the same problem...
in Joomla i can Not Login, but in SMF yes...
when i try login by joomla, the index.php only refresh, as when you touch F5 or click REFRESH.  ???

What is this problem?

FORGET IT!!!

I was reading more about JSMF and i see a post of LOCUTUS that said that is best use JSMF 2.0.1 for Joomla 1.1.5 ... and i install this and now is working fine!

Hey guys,

I am running Joomla 1.0.15 and SMF 1.1.5 with the 2.0.2.1 bridge. My users arent able to login on the joomla site. I'm using Joomla-SMF Login module 2.0.4. They must first log in to the SMF forum then they can login on the joomla end. I can watch this on the joomla user manager. Once they log in to SMF they pop up in joomla. I have 4000 previous users. New users don't have the problem. I have not synchronized users because when I did last time it timed out and I figured that's why I was having password errors. I re-copied the DB from my live site again and started over with no synchronization.

Is anyone else having this problem? I love having Joomla-SMF and I really want to use it!

Rob

@Rob: I advise you to install WAMP on your local machine. Backup your site (files and db) and restore it on your local machine. Then do the sync. If you still got time outs, you can try to extend the execution time. It it works restor your db in your site.

@Bill: FTP to the folder /components/ and remove the folder com_smf. Do the same for the folder /administrator/components/. Or you could uninstall JSMF before installing  :P

Thanks for the help.  I did not realize that I already had the file installed.   ::)

I do have another question.  When I hit the "click to patch" for "Patch Joomla Source Files" in the Joomla-SMF Forum Installation, it causes my website to crash and I get the following error message when trying to access the site.

"Fatal error: main() [<a href='function.main'>function.main</a>]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Any idea what I can do to solve this problem?

How can i sync Community builder avatars(Gallery) with SMF?
I have configured the bridge 2.0.2.1 to work with CB, works all fine except the avatar.
Now when i select an avatar for my CB profile that don't appears in SMF. How can i obtain this?
Actually when user upload the images then they are shown in the forums//but when they choose form the cb profile they dont appear in the forums....i checked the paths then avtar path is show correctly but the image name is changed to    tn90.jpg

but image name is 90.jpg

ok when user upload images then two files are created one like

323_2323232.jpg

another with   tn323_2323232.jpg

so they appear in forums....but cb gallery files dont have 'tn' names

plz help

Ok so I upgraded to Joomla from mambo and everything is up and functioning with the bridge.  I am having one small problem that I can not seem to figure out.

I use the cb_login module to login, logout and register on my main site.  When I logout it redirects me to my smf forum.  I just want it to redirect to my homepage or the previous page they were viewing upon logout not the smf.

I tried changing this in the cb_login module but no matter what I put in there it still redirects to the forum.  Does anyone have any idea how I would solve this problem.  I appreciate any help, thanks.

When you search the forums you will read that the JSMF bridge wil not work with J1.5 and SMF 2.0.

You can try Jfusion.. but this is still in alpha stage ;)

Yes it works with PHPbb, SMF, vBulletin.

But the Jfusion team advises to not use the Bridge on Live sites

Quote
At the moment, JFusion is in an ALPHA stage of development. This early stage of development means that we cannot classify JFusion as a 'Stable' product. For this reason we do not recommend that you use it on a live production site. This release is only intended to get feedback from the community.

When you have questions about Jfusion. Please ask them in a separate thread. Better read the link I gave you ;)

I have Community builder, SMF and Joomla all integrated together but I am getting a couple glitches.  I am using the CB login module so that people can login and register using community builder.

1.  When I log out of the website it takes me to http://www.website.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=366& which basically looks like the SMF login logout screen.  I would like it to just logout to the main index page of the website.

2. When I try to view the user list in the community builder on the backend of the website I essentially get a blank screen.  It shows the Profile tab but there is not any information.

3. My registered users appear to be syncing correctly but occasionally it will fail to login or logout, but upon further attempts it will eventually work.  Any user who is above registered, such as an Author or Administrator there are more problems upon logging in.  While it logs in successfully it always gives an error message.  It will not log out and the password is not recognized in the SMF forum log in.

If anyone has any ideas on how to solve these problems please let me know.  Your help is definitely appreciated.

Only this window appears.

This component integrates the Joomla/Mambo CMS with Simple Machines Forums(SMF). The bridge also works with Community Builder through the use of the JSMF CB plugin that can be downloaded from JoomlaHacks.com.

This bridge supports the following version of software
Joomla 1.0+ or Mambo 4.5.2+
SMF 1.1 RC2+
CB 1.0+
Support for this bridge can be obtained at JoomlaHacks.com

If this bridge is useful to you and you are so inclined, please consider a donation to ensure continued development of this bridge. Thank you!

When I try to install the CB-SMF bridge (cb_plug_smf_2_0_3) seperately I get the following error.

Quote
Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

Joomla 1.0.16? Are you sure?

Did you install the CB plugin?

BTW I don't have a clue why people use CB. SMF is much more user orientated and with the custom profile mod you have unlimited fields!

Hi,

I just uninstalled my old SMF component and CB.  I've upgraded to SFM 1.1.6 and upgraded to Joomla 1.0.15.  When I try and install the JSMF component I receive the following error:

Upload component - Failed
Another component is already using directory: "/home/content/d/i/v/divevetsadmin/html/components/com_smf/"
[ Continue ... ]

I don't see any other component using this directory.  Any help?  Thanks.

Roland

UPDATE:
I tried deleting the com_smf directories from Components and Admin/Components, but now I get the following error:

File /home/content/d/i/v/divevetsadmin/html/media/install_48e8582a6cb8d/smf.php does not exist!

Hi Roland,

Removing:
  • /components/com_smf/
  • /administrator/components/com_smf/

via FTP or other means will solve your problem.

Good luck

So it's not a specific JSMF problem. I found and extensive topic about this problem over here:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=34971&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=0

I recommend you to setup a WAMP installation, install stuff you like and after that FTP it and restore your database on your live site.

I can't remember if it applies for these simple upgrades.

What's left is simple however has a little work: Slice the primary calf off of your own denim true religion jean shorts (http://www.truereligionjeansdiscounted.com) plus reduce the stitches completely (minimize by 50 percent). You might be grownup denims, simply just place open up the particular jean knee for the counter-top and a binder in to be certain the space is definitely correct. Up coming, trim another lower leg within your skinny jeans in half, as well as fold the edges directly into guarantee your "good fit.Inches If you use tot denims, purely stitch a pairs together to get your current ideal length.
