Another thing, im using "Add Item ID" for the first time, but the Item ID is wrong (supposed to be itemid,8/ but it gives itemid,2/.
Can you tell me how to fix this manually.

EDIT: After installing JSMF 2.0.2 all automatic links to profiles (smf, blogs, articles) link to itemid,2/ .

I didnt have this issue before..

2.0.2-2.  Fixed problem where CB avatars tried to sync back to CB from SMF
What does this mean?
I suppose, there is still no way to disable avatar sync. Am I right?

no way to disable avatar sync.  That bug was where a CB avatar was sync'd to SMF, then a subsequent SMF profile update tried to synchronize the avatar back, which is not necessary and caused an error in some cases.

Add Item Id is for CB only, I'm guessing you realize that.  Basically it queries the database for the itemid of CB.  So your database is telling the bridge that the CB itemid is 2.

then thats weird... how come itemid,8 is the correct item id for comprofiler when it shows the template edits in itemid,8 and not itemid,2... ?? lol.. And yes I know its for cb... I need it because every menu item has its own color.

Thanks for the new component. One issue still remains from previous 2.0 versions, that is logout redirect don't work, neither from the jsmf login module or the component itself.

AFAIK the OpenSEF guys are working on a new release somewhere mid (or end) February. More information on JSMF and OpenSEF can be found on the OpenSEF forum:

yeah, thats the rdf, and if you don't have url fopen enabled you'll get this message.  It's from the original author and I'd fix it, but things will be different for 1.5 so I probably won't worry about it.

Hi

I want to find out, before installing it (and maybe breaking something), will this one work if I have joomla in a seperate DB from SMF? I installed both vir Fantastico, and they DB's users are: softdux_joom1 & softdux_smf2 - would I be able to use your bridge, and the recent / latest topics module?

True, a full 1.5 stable release is some time away, but I hope to have something that works with 1.5 in a month or two at least.

What I know is that the beta 2 is coming soon (this month ;D). With some nice updates nice feature is the new SEO implementation. :-X

What about the stable release we all have to wait. afther the beta we get the RC. Thinking that the stable version is after RC2 or 3.

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2 Released - Lost Password Function
Post by: gripster on February 13, 2007, 05:09:40 PM
Hello,

i have a problem with the bridge when using the lost password function.

first my configuration:

joomla 1.0.12
jsmf: 2.0.2a | jsmf cb plugin 2.0.3
SMF: 1.1.1
CB: 1.0.2

I'm using cb login to log on to the site, if a user has forgotten his password and want to order a new one he get the following error:

JSMF CB Plugin error:: Failed to update password to SMF:: Table 'databasename.members' doesn't exist SQL= UPDATE members SET= passwd='a string' Where id=11
From:: /path/to/webroot/administrator/component/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php || updatepass || 1201

Seems that the function can't read the var {$jsmfConfig->smf_prefix} properly although it is set correctly in backend and correctly displayed in mysql.

If you want to see it live just pm me i'll give you account informations with which you can test.

rgds,
gripster

did you modify the query string?  I see

SET = passwd = 'a string'

the first equal sign shouldn't be there and I don't see it in the code.  Just want to make sure that was you manually editing the error.

And this is happening EVERY time?

yes plz, login credentials

I am using 2.0 RC2 now.

Thanks

I am having a very strange problem. I have the latest version of everything installed and running great.

My problem is the Profile plugin for CB. If I view my profile in CB without logging in, the avatar shows up fine. If I login, and then view my profile, the image is gone and it offers me the option of syncing by CB picture with my SMF avatar.

I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. It only can't find the avatar when you are logged in as that user. I can even login and view other user's profiles and see their avatars! Crazy!

Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

When your Forum is now the first thing you see when opening your site with SMF in wrapped mode then you have to go to your Main menu in your Joomla! Backend.

When you are at the Menu’s the chows for the Main Menu and then you will see that the forum is on place one just put your main page back on position one and your problem has been fixed.

This is a bug with a very simple fix.  Surprisingly it has never failed on me in testing for unknown reasons.  The fix is straightforward.  On line 1178 of administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php you will fine this line:

Code:
global $database;

The fix is to append one line after that one, like this:

Code:
global $database;
global $jsmfConfig;
  That should solve your problem.  This will be corrected in the next release.

yes, it was blank, i read the user guide, i did all the instruction correctly

but i got the filling that the problem was my index joomla patch, i used the patch from version 2.0 as my 2.0.2 package didnt have it, but it still the joomla 1.0.12 patch right ?

thats teh correct patch, what we were referring to is there is help available for blank pages and it tells you what to do.  Chances are you have misconfigured something if it worked in 2.0.

Title: Best upgrade from JSMF 2.0RC1?
Post by: Patrick Johnson on February 25, 2007, 03:41:57 PM
Hi,

I am (finally) getting to upgrading:

JSMF - 2.0RC1 to 2.0.2 (or 2.0.2a if necessary)
SMF - 1.1RC3 to 1.1.2
CB - 1.0.1 to 1.0.2
Joomla - 1.0.11 to 1.0.12

Any suggestions on the most efficient way to do the upgrade ?  I am assuming I can't use the 2.0+ to 2.0.2 patch, correct ?  Do I need to de-install and re-install ?

Also anything to watch out for with the above versions with respect to compatibility ?

Thanks,
Patrick

You have searched? I think you should try a different searchengine...

SMF can be found at http://www.simplemachines.org
JSMF can be found on this site (Joomlahacks) in the download section.

How hard can it be....

I have been using JSMF since the very beginning of the component coming out & have never had problems till now. I have tried all the standard procedures to try solve the problem to no Avail.
Wolverine any suggestions?

if it is in the table then it has to be in the user list, because the user list references the table.

Finally made a new SMF installation & problem was solved.
So seemingly problem must have been from SMF side

After experiencing a number of the forementioned problems with..

Joomla! 1.0.12
SMF 1.1.1
JSMF 2.0.2
CB 1.0.2

..All i can say is: Download and follow the 'User Guide' to the letter.

I had been using Simpleboard (aka. Joomlaboard) which unfortunately bottle-necks the 7 J! UserGroups into 3 SB UserGroups, acceptable unless you care; which i do. SO! I went for SMF which turned out to be the wise choice, and i figured that not enough people in the world show praise for a great thing, so here's that.

Thank You!

I am having a problem with the registration.  I have Joomla 1.0.12, SMF 1.1.2, and Joomla-SMF 2.0.2.  When I set the registration configuration to "SMF", registering in Joomla still brings up the Joomla registration form, not SMF's. I would like to use the SMF form, since it seems that, after activation, no login is required to synchronize the Joomla and SMF databases;  I also like the captcha used by SMF.

Another problem: deleting a user the Joomla User Manager does not delete the user in SMF.  I have configured everything according to the User Guide.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Chris,
are you using CB ?  I have no problems with the sync using CB from joomla to smf. I have a unique setup where I have 2 separate domains, joomla on one and smf on another - but that's a whole nother can of worms.
Best,

Hi,

I have JSMF 2.0.2, Joomla 1.0.12, OpenSef 2.0 RC5...Artio SEF patch, Joomfish 1.7(with hack in mod_jflanguageselection to set SMF language variable in URL)

I just noticed a problem that some users have already noticed. I can´t asure it, but i think that this was not happening before updating to JSMF 2.0.2.

When i go to the forum, without having changed the Joomla language(default language of my site is spanish), i get into the forum, where the default language is also spanish. However, the forum main menus som have the links pointing to a sef url for english:

the menu options that have the wrong language in the url:

MAIN: http://www.mysite.com/foro/&/?lang=en
HELP: http://www.mysite.com/foro/action,help/?lang=en
SEARCH: http://www.mysite.com/foro/action,search/?lang=en
MY PROFILE: http://www.mysite.com/component/option,com_comprofiler/Itemid,0/?lang=en
MESSAGES: http://www.mysite.com/foro/action,pm/?lang=en
MEMBERS: http://www.mysite.com/foro/action,mlist/?lang=en

The ones that have the right language in the url:

ADMIN: http://www.mysite.com/foro/action,admin/?lang=es
LOGOUT: http://www.mysite.com/foro/action,logout/sesc,5470cc8c09a837619d8f815327f71ec6/?lang=es

Since this happens if i login in the Joomla Homepage and i go directly to the forum, the hacked mod_jflanguageselection is not involved, so i don´t think it has anything to do with this.

Any idea what might be going on?

Thanks,
NiCo ;)

Do you have an direct link to the site?

I do not see com_smf in the url's?

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2 Released
Post by: GlingGlo on March 10, 2007, 11:07:45 AM
Livebox: Thanks for your reply.

You don´t see com_smf in the urls because i have OpenSef treat com_smf with an alias (foro).

Anyway...I remembered having seen something in the .htaccess file that mentioned SMF, so I went there and it said:

Quote
#####  SOLVING PROBLEMS WITH COMPONENT URL's that don't work #####
# SPECIAL NOTE FOR SMF USERS WHEN SMF IS INTEGRATED AND BRIDGED
# OR ANY SITUATION WHERE A COMPONENT's URL's AREN't WORKING
#
# In both the 'Standard SEF', and '3rd Party or Core SEF' sections the line:
# RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(/component/option,com) [NC,OR] ##optional - see notes##
# May need to be uncommented.

So i uncommented that line, cleared the cookies and temp files and now the urls are correct, with the proper language in the urls i mentioned.

Cheers,
NiCo

Hi.
I´ve just installed JSMF with CB and rt_versatility theme for both Joomla-site and SMF, and everything is working fine - except:
when in the wrapped SMF the header changes from my site header to SMF header (original versatility header).
Is this supposed to be like that or is there a way to give SMF the same header as the site?

Chiao.

This has to do that your Joomla! Theme and SMF theme are using the same classes. There are several solution mentioned on the forum.

Hello...I am very worried about this...I think this might be related to the fact that my users get easily logged out of SMF after maybe a little while of writing a post or a PM, but i have the log settings very high, so something is not working properly.

I would appreciate any idea on what might be going on,
Thanks

Hello,

I have the same issue. I don't think it is wise to advise CB as an alternative. there is no IP checking or ban possible with CB ... I believe it is mostly a gadget for low-trafficked sites or show me a large forum that use CB for registration or login !!!

I have read the guide several times and I now feel prisoner because the user database is on Jommla not SMF anymore and I need IP checking because of trolls spaming my SMF forum !

Hi all, hi wolverine.
I've upgraded to 2.0.2 with no problems. :)

But using new login module (mod_smf_login 2.0.4) i'm experiencing errors during logout.
The SMF logout botton/link works, so the joomla one.

Clicking the "logout link" of the mod_smf_login the logout is correctly performed if and only if i'm NOT into any SMF content page (I use wrapped solution with login module always visible).

Right now i'm using a workaround disabling the native "logout link" and adding a custom link pointing to "index.php?option=logout" (<- working).

It seems that javascript function document.getElementById('logout').submit() works only if you navigate "joomla" pages and not any of the forum.

If you were in the forum profile, i.e., you'd get an SMF  page with "An error has occured! The user whose profile you are trying to view doesn't exist", or, in same case, you will see other pages with the logout apparently performed (I see the login module but the page is, i.e., the summary profile of an user).

Maybe it's not a bridge problem but with previous version of the module it worked fine.

Any idea?

Thanks

I noticed a form using the same name, so I suspect that that is your problem as well.  I have fixed it in the repository and will include it in the next release.  I've been extremely busy with real life things and have not had the time I want to work on the bridge, but I should have a release all together later this month.

Title: Sync-Bug in JSMF 2.0.2??
Post by: fca07 on April 10, 2007, 03:36:45 PM
i have installed:
jsmf 2.0.2
smf 1.1.2
mod_smf_login 2.0.4
smf is installed under www.go-vista.de/forum/
Bridged board is reachable under http://www.go-vista.de/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,49/
JSMF-Registration system is set to SMF

if a user registers an account under www.go-vista.de/forum

and later logs in under http://www.go-vista.de/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,49/ the useraccount is not synced with joomla and there is an "error-popup" which says "you are not allowed to view this page"

if he logs in with mod_smf_login under www.go-vista.de the user is synced to joomla and a further more login under http://www.go-vista.de/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,49/ works.

So i think thats a bug - or not???

wow, this must have never worked.  I'm not sure how in the *&#@ I didn't catch this.  Thanks.  Here is the fix.

On or around line 1197 find this line:
Code:
"WHERE id = '$smf_id' ";

And change it to be:

Code:
"WHERE ID_MEMBER = '$smf_id' ";

I'm running:
Joomla 1.0.11
SMF 1.1.2
CB 1.0.2
Joola-SMF 2.0.2

I love the integration, it's much better than the Orstio bridge I was using in the past.  I was looking for tighter integration, which this bridge offers!  One big reason for the upgrade was to get my "lost password" feature working finally, but having the same troubles mentioned earlier in this thread.  I see the fix, but smf.class.php does not have the line:

Code:
"WHERE id = '$smf_id' ";

anywhere in the file, and nothing even close, not even the corrected line.  I tried adding the line around line 1197 to no avail as well.  Also having trouble logging out.  When I log out using the JSMF login module, it still shows me as logged in (in the module), but if I try going to my profile for instance, it tells me I need to be logged in, which indicates that I am logged out, but the module doesn't give me a username/password login, it shows my avatar.

My bad, found it in the CORRECT path administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php.  File fixed, issue resolved.

Still having logout issues under the jsmf module, however.  I'll look more closely at your post, looks like you might have an update somewhere in the repository.

Also resolved the issues I was having with the Joomla-SMF login module.  Checked everything in IE, which was working fine.  Had to clear my cookies in Firefox to get it to work, but it's functional.  Thanks for an awesome bridge, much closer to what I wanted in the first place!

Hi wolverine,
I've some questions about the CB<->SMF synch.
First of all, I disabled avatar management via smf because I want to handle it only through CB.

1) About images moderations, i.e., users update their personal picture/avatar getting the famous image "pending approval". It's exactly the behaviour wanted.
The problem is that the pictaure is updated into SMF Profile on the fly (you can view even via the smf_login module) without waiting for Administrators moderations.

Could you help me on this? Furthermore, if I choose to reject image (offensive pics, harrassement, porn, or whatever) the smf profile keeps that inopportune picture as well  >:(
Is it possible to synch them only after administrator moderations?

2) I need to keep other field synched (gender, birthday, zodiac signs, etc etc) and quite all infos available both cb and smf profile.

Could you suggest me how to do it?
For example, how can I keep in synch the gender? (I've a CB field called cb_gender ...).

Thanks in advance.

A.

Hi all.
I'm using JSMF 2.0.2 with Joomla 1.0.12.
I'm used to put jsmf recent topics published into the front page.
I installed virtuemart 1.0.10 and all work pretty well.

The problem now I have is that i get this error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: () in [mysiteurl]/forum/Sources/Subs.php on line 872

into the smf_recent topic module.

Forum, synch, post and so on keep working so, at the moment, I had to unpublish the smf recent topics module (2.0.2 version).

Any idea?

Thanks in advance,

Hi guys, great job, well done!

Installed Joomla! 1.0.12 and SMF 1.1.2 and JSMF 2.0.2. Converted a phpbb 2 database into SMF 1.1.2 to see the user pop-up in the Joomla! user-manager.

Migration was flawless for our users. Which was nice.

Two problems:

1. My SMF-error log is flooding with:

Quote
2: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent
File: /var/www/vhosts/mysite.nl/httpdocs/portal/includes/joomla.php
Line: 4039

I work with a wrapped forum, tried several templates and ended with BlackDay  Joomla/SMF, specially written to be used in a wrapped Joomla! environement. All templates generate this error.

The second problem is more a matter of improvement. Using the stripped SMF template logging into the SMF admin-panel brings me to a new page where I would have preferred the wrapped environment. I will try to figure out what to change to get this but mayby you, good reader, know what to do much faster.

Tips are highly appriciated!

I worked out the admin problem by reading all topics about the subject.

I understand the admin-panel does not persé have to be wrapped BUT in my case I work with a stripped SMF-template. So, outside the Joomla! it looks weirdish. solved it (I think) by disabling the admin security check.

The stripped SMF-template will prolly cause the error I mentioned '2: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent
File: /var/www/vhosts/mysite.nl/httpdocs/portal/includes/joomla.php

We will check upon that when my graphical wizard returns from London. For now we managed to migrate a crappy bot-infested phpBB to a sophisticated Joomla!-SMF site in just a couple of days (fine-tuned and everything).

Thanks again!

We run a mambo-template. We will modify it to Joomla! Will prolly solve a lot.

Hello. After upgrading to 2.0.2 (from 2.0), when clicking on Replay button -

Message

'); for (row = 0; row < smileys.length; row++) { for (i = 0; i < smileys[row].length; i++) { smileys[row][2] = smileys[row][2].replace(/"/g, '"'); smileyPopupWindow.document.write('' + smileys[row][2] + ' '); } smileyPopupWindow.document.write("

instead of message reply page.

Disabling popup windows with additional smiles solved this problem.
What is wrong?

I've also installed the jsmf bridge after much problems with the commercial jvb/jipb forum bridges for vbulletin and ipb. It works like it is supposed to but I loose all images on my forum in wrapped view? Does anyone know how to fix this to have the forum properly displayed?

Hi,

I have JSMF 2.0.2 and Joomla 1.0.12 and i am seeing a lot of errors in the SMF error log which are all the same error all the time, for different users:

Quote
http://www.mysite.com/_foros/index.php?option=com_smf&amp;Itemid=236&amp;action=post&amp;quote=848&amp;topic=171.0&amp;num_replies=2&amp;sesc=879262e16123a4ec2ebe891f293c5773&amp;lang=es
8: Only variable references should be returned by reference
File: /home/myuser/public_html/includes/joomla.php
Line: 364

or another example:

Quote
http://www.mysite.com/_foros/index.php?option=com_smf&amp;Itemid=236&amp;topic=171.msg712&amp;boardseen=1&amp;lang=es
8: Only variable references should be returned by reference
File: /home/myuser/public_html/includes/joomla.php
Line: 364

I checked line 364 of joomla.php and at that line it says:

Quote
$cache = new JCache_Lite_Function( $options );
return $cache;

Any idea of what might be the problem?

Thanks,
NiCo

Hello again.
I´ve been trying to install JSMF on Joomla with CB installed. Patching Joomla Source Files was OK, and I got "done", but when I click on "Patch SMF Source Files" then I get:
Quote
Failed: Permission problem, unable to open file: /usr/home/web26249/domains/chirurgia.se/public_html/forum/index.php

The thing is I have CHMODed the index.php file in SMF to 755 (-rwxr-xr-x) but I still get the error message.
Anyone who can help me out on this one? Is the SMF-patch source file available anywhere for downloading (as the Joomla-patch source file)?

Regards  :)

just CHmod it temp to 777. Are you owner off the files or is Apache the owner? when Apach is the owner just chown the files or let your provider do that ;)

This question is asked many times. There are a lot of good tips to find on the forums ;)

Could be the account running as the webserver doesn't have r/w access to index.php file.

SSH in and set the file to 777 to see if it will patch it.

What directory do you have SMF installed in?
Normal setups have Joomla installed from root of site and smf in a sub directory from root of site.

yes, I have smf installed in a subdirectory.

Joomla is in /home/myuser/public_html
SMF is in /home/myuser/public_html/_foros

I think that is supposed to be like that.

Hi all,

Since this week I use SMF as forum on Joomla. I installed Joomla-SMF 2.0.2 bridge. After Installation I added a handful of accounts on Joomla, and those are now usable on SMF. But I can not log in into Joomla any more. And when I look into the database, I see the accounts in the joomla_users table and in smf_members. So does anyone know what the problem is?

Lucky me. I can log in as Administrator again (But only when I use http://www.mysite.org/administrator/   >:( ). I can absolutely not access my website using the front end log in module.

Some data:

    * Joomla: 1.0.12
    * SMF: 1.1.3
    * JSMF: 2.0.2
    * PHP: 2.8.2.4
    * MySQL: 4.1.21-standard

The doc that came with the bridge is very good.
Review it again to make sure you didn't miss any steps.

When you say you can't login what is the end result when you do?
A blank page?

Your sites php error log might help.  be sure to have eoor logging enable in your PHP setup.
You also might want to turn up debug on Joomla to see if it helps to diagnose the issue.

AFAIK I followed the installation documentation to the letter. The error message I get is:

"You are not authorised to view this resource
You need to login"
A rather standard error report.

Where do I find the php error log?

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2 Released
Post by: exrace on June 29, 2007, 11:40:05 AM
Assuming you have SSH access to your server see if you etc\php.ini has this enabled.

Code:
; Log errors into a log file (server-specific log, stderr, or error_log (below))
; As stated above, you're strongly advised to use error logging in place of
; error displaying on production web sites.
log_errors = On
The default name if not specified is error_log.
If enabled it will write a error log.

Open a shell session and run this from the root of the drive file system.
[root@myserver /]# find -name error_log

This will find all error_log files.

Depending on your setup (plesk for example) will store the error_log under the sites folders.

My website's file management tool is DirectAdmin from www.site-helper.com. I've browsed around in the directory structure I have access to and could not find the directory etc or log, nor a file php.ini. I will look if I can get an answer from my service provider on the issue of an error log. But the prospects look dim.

Michel

Modify:
I had some discussion with my website provider, and it is not possible to get this information.

What I later noticed was that I cannot change the settings of accounts in www.mysite.com/administrator -> User Management. I wanted to change an account from Administrator to Registered, and got the error message 'This username/password already in use. Please try another.' And this is off course a pre-defined message which you can find in the /language/english.php file.

Title: "Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in"
Post by: Makamba on July 02, 2007, 04:57:26 AM
Hi,

Because the forum was not so important I thought to remove it until I could figure out the problem I have. So I went to the Administrator part of the website, opened the menu "Installers -> Components", selected the installed JSMF bridge, and pressed the 'Uninstall' button. When I logged out, I got the following error:
Code:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/myaccount/domains/mywebsite.org/public_html/mysubdomain/index.php on line 158

Now I can't even view the website. What do I need to do to get my website back? I tried to install an old index.php, and got the next error message "Direct Access to this location is not allowed.".

The code around line 158 is:
Code:
//JOOMLAHACKS.COM
$message = intval( mosGetParam( $_POST, 'message', 0 ) );
$jsmf->restorePostMessage($savedVars);

if ($option == 'login') {

//JOOMLAHACKS.COM
$_SESSION['USER_AGENT'] = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
$_SESSION['_FROM_MOS'] = TRUE;
$_SESSION['_RETURN'] = $return;
$jsmf->doLogin(true);

// JS Popup message
if ( $message ) {
?>
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
<!--//
alert( "<?php echo addslashes_LOGIN_SUCCESS ); ?>" );
//-->
</script>
<?php
}

if ( $return && !( strpos$return'com_registration' ) || strpos$return'com_login' ) ) ) {
// checks for the presence of a return url
// and ensures that this url is not the registration or login pages
// If a sessioncookie exists, redirect to the given page. Otherwise, take an extra round for a cookiecheck
if (isset( $_COOKIE[mosMainFrame::sessionCookieName()] )) {
mosRedirect$return );
} else {
mosRedirect$mosConfig_live_site .'/index.php?option=cookiecheck&return=' urlencode$return ) );
}
} else {
// If a sessioncookie exists, redirect to the start page. Otherwise, take an extra round for a cookiecheck
if (isset( $_COOKIE[mosMainFrame::sessionCookieName()] )) {
mosRedirect$mosConfig_live_site .'/index.php' );
} else {
mosRedirect$mosConfig_live_site .'/index.php?option=cookiecheck&return=' urlencode$mosConfig_live_site .'/index.php' ) );
}
}

} else if (
$option == 'logout') {

For the record, line 158 was the third line of above code, or:
Code:
$jsmf->restorePostMessage($savedVars);

Anyone know what I need to do to get back to a working Joomla?

TIA
Michel

Overwrite the /index.php with the org file from the Joomla version your running. There is a copy of a unaltered file in the Joomla zip file.

Do the same with SMF if you find the words "//JOOMLAHACKS.COM" in the /index.php file.

You should consider changing hosts.  Access to those files or configuration parts are something any provider should be able to provide.

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2 Released
Post by: Makamba on July 02, 2007, 09:47:37 AM
OK, I have overwritten index.php using the index.php from the zip file. I have access to the website again, but have no access to the forum.

In the ./forum/index.php file no entry containing "//JOOMLAHACKS.COM" exists. So I need not change it? But I have no access to my forum anymore. I get the error message:
Not Found
The requested URL /forum/installation/index.php was not found on this server.

Now on the subject of changing hosts. I might misunderstand you, because I have access to the files in my part of the file structure. I use a nice tool, called DirectAdmin. So I need not change provider?

Lastly, I think I will get the error as explained in my post on the previous page, which I will quote here:

How to downgrade?

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2 Released
Post by: Kevin8020 on July 24, 2007, 08:02:30 PM
To downgrade, you have to re-upload the Joomla 1.0.12 package AND reset the passwords of ALL users who logged in after the upgrade. Any users who logged into Joomla 1.0.13 will be unable to login to 1.0.12.

You can reset most of those passwords from the admin panel. If the admin is not able to login, you can reset their password by googling "MD5 Hasher" and pasting the hashed string into the "password" column of the jos_users database for the specified user.

(sorry for the lengthy instructions - just covering my bases)

Title: Re: JSMF 2.0.2 Released
Post by: exrace on July 24, 2007, 11:38:35 PM
It also helps to make a backup of your DB BEFORE upgrading. Then you can copy and paste from your backup DB to your production DB if you have to back out.

I wish Joomla hadn't released this security "update" like this login hash change as someone on the core team HAD to know it was going to break every single piece of bridge code out that does password sync.

I know it was in interest of security but yet another black-eye for Joomla. :(

Saw your thread that you're no longer actively developing JSMF. Huge thanks for taking up the project back then man. I know how it is, sometimes it's just  no longer possible to continue supporting a huge project. Sorry couldn't be around more the past months, my site's keeping me pretty busy too ;)

Huge thanks once again, god knows how much the smf community owes you and cowboy.
