Title: partial sharing of users across 2 sites
Post by: Warwick on September 13, 2006, 10:14:02 AM
partial sharing of users across 2 sites?

I want to have 2 sites with partial sharing of users.
Site 1 will have a number of groups, created by JALC.
Site 2 will have its own users, but I also want to use "one" of the user groups from site 1. Is this somethign that is possible with SMF and JSMFv2.0 or might it be in V2.1?

Group synchronization is on the roadmap for JSMF 2.1.  We are planning JACL compatibility at that time.

Great. Good work. When will V2.1 be out approximately?

Thats great. I'm planning on starting a set of community sites but I don't know how to sync the users between sites. I want to have a central "hub" site with "global" account management with registration/login, central help desk, community forum, and community wiki. This should work well for that.

Now I'm looking forward to 2.0 and 2.1. Seems like JSMF is slowly becoming "J-Hub" or "J-Bridge". Since you've got user account integration down pat it seems like adding modular interfaces for other components should be easy.

Thanks,
-Chris
