Can't Sync all Users

I am creating a new Mambo website based upon an existing site I have.
I have installed Mambo and SMF successfully.

I have also been able to migrate my existing phpbb forum to SMF successfully.

The problem I have now is with some of the usernames.
When I try and sync Mambo with the SMF users (within component Mambo-SMF 1.3.1.3) I get the error:

Syncing username KJ Failed! Please enter a valid Username:. No spaces, more than 2 characters and containing only the characters 0-9,a-z, or A-Z

I have a few instances where the username length is 2 charaters or less.
Is it possible to remove this check to sync the users and then to put it back once this process has been completed?

I am fairly certain this is a db constraint in Mambo that cannot be altered.

It’s not a DB constraint,

As a work around I added additional characters to the username in the smf_members tables ran the import then in both the smf_members and mos_users tables changed the values back to how they were (and got no db errors).

After lots of hunting around I found the code.

It in the component com_registration.html.php has a username verification function.

I changed the line else if (r.exec(form.username.value) || form.username.value.length < 3) to
else if (r.exec(form.username.value) || form.username.value.length < 0) and the sync worked fine.

Not worked out how to get over usernames with the – yet.
