ADVICE NEEDED: Single login to Joomla 1.0.12 & SMF 1.12
« on: September 04, 2008, 09:35:25 PM »

Hello all,

I was wondering if it is possible to have a single login to Joomla 1.0.12 and SMF 1.12 without merging databases or any other additional features?

The users in Joomla 1.0.12 are already replicated in SMF 1.12. That is, the users have same username and password on both Joomla and SMF databases.

All I want is a Joomla 1.0.12 module to login users to SMF 1.1.2 too when they log in to Joomla.

How do I do that?

It seems to me that the Joomla-SMF bridge requires the databases to be merged? I would much prefer to have the databases stay separate. And I am happy to register new users to Joomla and SMF separately with same set of username and password.

Advice is very much appreciated on how I could allow single login without merging databases. Thanks in advance.

When I’m right then you have to make an J! module with the SSI functions of SMF. You need some PHP experience to do this ;-)

The best forums to ask this is the Simplemachines forums maybe the Joomla forums.
