Install Issue
« on: December 28, 2007, 10:46:05 AM »

I am using the latest version of Joomla (1.5 RC3), SMF forum and the JoomlaHacks SMF/Joomla bridge.  I tried installing and had some issues:

First I thought I'd mention SMF is installed on the same DB as Joomla (smf_ table prefix)

When I try to patch Joomla source files I get the error:

Failed: Code to be patched not found in file: require_once( 'includes/frontend.php' );/home/women19/public_html/index.php

When I patch SMF source files (click on the link) it seems to process in the background but I get no confirmation message or error.

When I try to view via my domain/index.php?option=com_smf, I get the following error:

Warning: filemtime() [function.filemtime]: Stat failed for /Load.php (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in /home/women19/public_html/forum/Sources/Load.php on line 2135

Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/women19/public_html/forum/Sources/Subs.php on line 321

Warning: db_fatal_error(/Subs-Auth.php) [function.db-fatal-error]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/women19/public_html/forum/Sources/Errors.php on line 418

Fatal error: db_fatal_error() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/Subs-Auth.php' (include_path='/home/women19/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/includes:.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/women19/public_html/forum/Sources/Errors.php on line 418

Any help on this would be appreciated.

I also have the same problem. http://www.frugo.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=44

Is it possible that it cannot work on 1.0 legacy? If there are any solutions, that would be great! phpinfo is at www.frugo.org/phpinfo.php

Brian,

Your php info is world wide visible; remove it before some bad guys are seeing it!

Thanks guys! Would anyone happen to know any other good SMF bridges for Joomla 1.5.4. I will soon be trying the recently added Simple Joomla! 1.5.x / SMF 2.x bridge @ http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,5388/Itemid,35/ and JFusion -> Universal User Integration http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3723/Itemid,35/

Any comments/remarks on this issue will much be appreciated.

There is also this: http://www.gmitc.biz/products/j2smf.html

I understand that Toby of gmitc is going to work together with those guys of Jfusion.

In this stage all bridges for Joomla 1.5.x are still very in the alpha phase of developing. Also it's not very clear, if those projects are not one day flies...

For now I advise not to upgrade to J! 1.5.x, just wait what the future will bring.
