Seems you have problems with the one off the Patched files.
So un-patch them the re-patch them. This question is asked many times before so there are all ready many possible solutions on the forums
The blank screen etc is also covered in the User Guide that can be found in the download section.
Better to not Cross post to keep the forums searchable

-When patching the index.php is not working? (Just try to chmod the index.php to 777, When the file is patched chmod it back to 644) -Chmodding the Root folder also will help (just temp chmod it to 777) -You can also check if you have the rights to CHmod (are you owner of the files and folders?) When No? just chwon them to your user.
Not all Hosting Providers give you the rights to chown the files. You can always ask your Hosting Provider to help you with Chmodding or chowning the files and folders.
And why Cross posting every time?
Best off luck finding an solution for your problem.

Wouldn't say, it's solved. When I replace admin.smf.class.php I get
Code:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in......../main/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php on line 1562
Well, I have the same "username already in use" problem. I want to use the bridge with J 1.0.15 and SMF 1.15.
I installed the component new, patched all files a few time new, no success. I searched this forum for hours, but couldn't find much about this problem.
It's not that I get always a blank page. It only happens, when I try to login with my sfm admin account. Each other account can login/logout correctly.
I'm wondering, if someone had the same problem and could solve it.
UPDATE: Looks like I could solve it by just deleting my SMF account name in the database jos_users. After that I logged in new with my SMF account. Done. And NO sync.

Yes, make sure that the administrator in Joomla and SMF don't have the same user name (like admin) before installing JSMF. If this is the case, you don't have to dive into your database. Just rename in in SMF or Joomla.
