Component install troubles
« on: December 10, 2006, 12:39:35 AM »

I am trying to upload and install C:\Bridge\com_smf_2_0.zip

I get the following response:

Upload component - Upload Failed
ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package.
[ Continue ... ]

Upload component - Failed
Installation file not found:
/home/httpd/vhosts/abc123.com/httpdocs/media/install_457b9d92931b2/
[ Continue ... ]

I am using the RC3 bridge with Joomla 1.0.11 and SMF 1.1

Any clue as to what could be the problem?

re-download JSMF.  If that doesn't work, extract and upload to a directory and install from directory instead.

OK I got this part of my problem resolved.  It all came down to requesting that my host turn off safe mode and register globals locally.

Now I am having trouble determining the correct item number for the forum.  Can someone explain how I find that out?

Thanks,

Randy

OK I found the right item number (28)

How do I change the forum URL from 26 to 28?

I tried going back into the install but the forum URL field is not editable...
