moving smf db to jm db
« on: September 27, 2006, 09:43:57 PM »

i gather from the docs for 2.0 bridge that smf and jm have to be in the same database. i have a forum already running under smf and i set up jm seperately. anyone have any pointers as to how i can integrate this and use the bridge without breaking my current smf setup?

should be straightforward to use phpmyadmin and export all your SMF.  Then import that into your joomla db.  Change your SMF Settings.php file to match the new db name, user, pass

note... phpmyadmin MAY FAIL on large databases >23mb

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BACKUPS IN THAT CASE

you may have to do instead a mysqldump dbname host password >backup.sql

start a new thread if that is the case.
