SMF Session and not Joomla session?

Ive installed and everything are ok. I noticed though that my site is using SMF session and not Joomla session. With this, if you have a third party component, that component and joomla itself can not recogize if the user is logged in.

Is this normal? How can you utilize then the usergroups in joomla?

Bridge is 3.19a
SMF is 1.0.5
Joomla is the latest version.

In addition to my problem i noticed that few users is actually in the list of users in "User Manager" in joomla.

I have 250 registered users in SMF but I only had around 15 in the list under "User Manager" in joomla. Also, i notice in their records in joomla that they dont have registered date in the record. It simply shows "0000-00-00 00:00:00"

Any idea?
