Error during configuration of Joomla-SMF bridge ver 1.1.4.2

I'm new to Joomla. I just installed the Joomla-SMF bridge following the instructions in the readme file that came with the download. When I got to the step "C" (click save) of the configuration, I received the following error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ';' in /home/globalpe/public_html/community1/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php on line 6

My platform is as follows:
-----------------
Joomla ver 1.0.11
CB ver 1.0.2
SMF ver 1.0.8

Please help!

please read the user manual. this bridge works from version SMF 1.1 RC2

Please upgrade your SMF version

Thanks for the response. I installed SMF via the Cpanel from my hosting company using the program Fantastico and the SMF version they provided. Where do I download the SMF 1.1 RC2 as you suggested?
