Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 - Blank Page

After successfully installing the Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2 Bridge I am receiving a blank page when selecting the forum.  I have verified that the PHP Session is set correctly and appropriate permission are set on the directory (/var/lib/php/session) as discussed in the Known Problems page (below):

Any other ideas as to what can cause this problem?

I just wanted to add some info that I should have in the first post.

I have installed:
- JoomlaPE (Joomla 1.0.10)
- Joomla-SMF 1.1.4.2
- Joomla-SMF Login 1.4.2
- SMF 1.1RC2

Going to SMF directly works.

I just wanted to post back that the problem has been corrected.  It was a security problem and a misunderstanding on my part.  When patching the files for the Joomla-SMF Bridge I clicked on Patch Files on the two selections and the bottom line said Done [verify], so I thought they worked.  Each line must say Done -- my bad.  There were two area (file & folder) that needed permissions in SMF.  Once permissions were opened and I clicked on Patch Files it worked and resolved the problem.
