I've managed to (I think) nearly successfully install Joom-SMF bridge, but the strangest thing is happening: LogIN works well - logging into joomla is acknowledged in SMF, and both logins happen simultaneously and correctly - It's when LOGGIN OUT, though, that things get weird - Logging OUT from Joomla front end routes me to the Forum page (?), and throws an error: "session verification failed - try logging out and back in again" If I then log OUT from SMF, all is well - I'm routed to the Joomla home page, in logged-out status..
Any thoughts on where this is going off the track?? Any thoughts on how to fix?
well, the error message is stating that you were logged out, but not from SMF(more or less). There was a bug in 1.1.1 that allowed a URL with your un/pw in plain text to be stored in the browser history. So I had to revert to an older version of the logout redirect method. I have been working on improving it without the security risk. Look for something new in 1.1.3. In the mean time, you could try the joomla-smf login module which will log you out of SMF first and then joomla, so the error message should go away.
Thanks Wolverine - appreciate the quick reply - I'm not sure I can take your suggestion, though, as I am also using the AcctExpiration login module so I can get paid registrations to automatically create registered users - so far, it's almost working perfectly, except for the weirdness noted above. Could mod_login-acctexp be the problem?
no, its just the way the two systems handle sessions. The redirect to the forum on logout is strange though. I'll keep working on the redirect portion of the code in hopes of solving these types of situations.
OK, well, now it's gotten REALLY weird - Log IN is completely broken - none of the registered users who are legal in the Joomla userbase can log in at all! (and yes, they are all active subscribers in AcctExp, by the way - thanks)
OK - back donw to less weird - Log IN problem was caused because menu link to SMF had gotten unpublished, so Joomla-SMF bridge config got VERY confused!
Problem solved. It was a bug that occurred due to SEF. It will be solved in the next release which will hopefully be out later this week if testing goes well.
