i got the error too and i did it the russion way ... but it works, index.php from 1.08 works without probs in joomla 1.09 i change it when Wolverine does the fix greats killa
no problem Imago i took about a half hour to find the solution not verry funny if a lot of members are online with a forum that is like a mosaic . good it works now
Followed the procedure to upgrade to Joomla-SMF 1.1.02 by uninstalling the previous versions of the comp, login module and recent topics module. Installed the 1.1.02 com successfully. When on the installation tab of Joomla-SMF Forum Configuration, all OK until I get to Patch Joomla Source Files when I get:
Quote
Failed: Code to be patched not found in file: /*edited*/htdocs/cspmag/index.php
I have already installed mod_smf_login 1.4.1 and mod_smf_recent_topics 1.7.1. I also have the Configuration set to use the SMF Registration Module.
Hope this helps Wolverine in his investigation for a timely fix.
because of modifications in the joomla index.php it couldn't be patched. The sef problem will still occure after patching.
@wolverine: there were 4 beta releases of Joomla! 1.0.9, plenty of time just to give some testers the question to test the component under the new version, i gues in the futere this has to be done, with 1.5 on the horizon it will be necessary, much has been chenged in it so compatibility isseus will occure...

Easy now... people have lives beyond the Joomla world. I'm sure a fix for this will come out soon, but remember that YOU could have done some testing before today as well. Don't just bash the developers without giving them some due thanks for their work in the first place.
That said, I am also having the same problem--the Joomla-SMF component can't patch the Joomla index.php file. I must admit that I was dumb and didn't back up my site, so I'll just live with it until a fix comes out.
