file not writeable!!!!!!!!

When i click --->Click to patch<--- (the first one) i get this error

i have changed the file permissions to 777 and then tried but did not work still same error..

Failed: /mnt/w0201/d09/s21/b028244b/www/xyz.com/test/joomla/index.php file or the parent path is not writeable!
I am using netfirm

both joomla and smf are intalled on the smae database

this is the first component i am installing

That's such a long path that can't be right! Jomla itself works?
Perhaps you should install another component first to learn how it goes. ... smf is really not the eaysiest Wink

and smf must be installed in the directory SMF in the joomla-root: www/xyz.com/test/joomla/smf/index.php !!

check your paths and read the installation-manual of the Smf-joomla bridge!

i have tied my hand on the other few...

i am hosting with netfirms and this is the absolout url whaich i get

change to joomla CMS and use the bridge 1.1.x!
