JSMF Login 1.4 problem
« on: April 18, 2006, 05:24:42 AM »

I manage to login alright, I have Joomla talking to SMF fine but the minuite I close the browser SMF login 1.4 comes up with the login form again, even though I have checked remember me...

One thing I have noticed is even tho SMF login 1.4 is asking me for my login details every time I open a new browser It appears I am still logged in, I know this from my whos online script.... sorry cant remember the maker or version of it.

I must be missing something st$p$d?

I have no idea what you are saying.  JSMF login is opening a pop-up window?  Do you have cookies enabled?  Have you checked the recommended configuration in the Known problems and solutions?

Basically..... JSMF login 1.4 wont remember the login.

Each time I close the browser it askes me to log in again even tho I have checked the remember me check box.

For some reason Joomla remembers the login as I still have my user menu showing and the name is displayed as logged in but JSMF login 1.4 (the module) dosent and as such SMF doesnt stay logged in.

Hard to explain, perhaps a visit to www.zuluwarriors.net would help, create an account and go through the process then when your logged in close the browser, you'll see what I mean

I'd rather you post the version of bridge you are running.

Not sure why but installing CB and the CB login plugin seems to have fixed it... I didn't really want to have to use CB as I dont need it's features but I can manage with it, just leave it there running in the back ground

Ok from some detection I've discovered it's not the login module but rather the bridge.

Joomla remembers my login and displays a menu I have setup that only members can see, therefore I know joomla has me loged in, the problem with this is when I click on the forum link (created by the bridge) it shows me as not logged.

The JSMF login mod 1.4 also displays the login form.

Basically the bridge isn't working, when I go ahead and login via JSMF login 1.4 form (even tho I am already logged in via joomla?Huh) then the forums become available?

I'm sorry if I sound like a noob, it's not an easy thing to explain espically when I've followed the installation manual to a tee 10 times now, patched, unpatched, sync'd???

I'm totally lost here

It might be that you are using a RC vesion of the bridge when there is a full version available that fixes that problem.  You need to download 1.1.02.  If you had posted your bridge version in the first post I could have resolved this for you quite some time ago.
