Rennassaince Fair Component
« on: March 28, 2006, 12:34:53 PM »

I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a compnent that would keep track, admin input only, of fair events like archery, crossbow and melee contests? I run a website for a game called Neverwinter Nights and we have a Fair every month and want to post the results with the winners being listed for the next event to beat.

I have an idea of what I want, is it out there or can someone help me create just said a component?

you need to add more info. what you have described so far sounds to me to not even NEED a component, specifically; if you are just posting results (like news) just post a news topic each week, (under a special NEVERWINTER FAIR news category) you have the added benefit that these news posts are automatically on an RSS feed (if anyone wants it) and you can use all the rich media available that you can squeeze in via the editor.
You could even have VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS of your contest posted there

How could I make it a list, like when someone posts a forum question and the module shows it?

Well, since you are typing into the content item, you can format it to appear any way you like! (Especially if you have a Wysiwyg editor!)

Best thing for you to do is.. type something up in Wordpad or word, making it look exactly as you'd like, then take a screen shot of that and post the picture of it so we can see what your trying to do..(or type it in here, in the forum and use the SMF features to color and highlight the text) that way we can understand EXACTLY what you are trying to get.

So far, it STILL doesnot look like you even need to write ANY code Cheesy
