Problem: When a user goes to the forum, logs in vie forum login he gets first redirected to the mambo environmant and has to click again on the menue button to get to the forum.
I have seen this redirection somewhere but I can't remember where and how to avoid this.
What do you mean somewhere? It should just be from when u log from smf or mambo. If you don't see it anymore, it's good. Because that should not even happen.

You are right, that should not happen! Exactly that was my question. When the user clicks on the forum button in the mambo menue and THEN logs in in the forum he should stay in the forum. But that is not the case here. He gets redirected to mambo entrance screen and has to click on the forum button again to get to the forum.
What I have seen was a posting about just this problem but I can't remember where that was.
I see your point. But it is not a problem. In general, the user logs in to mambo whereever the user logs from.
No, not here. Most user have already complained. Also, when you get a mail with a notice that a new posting has arrived in athread you watch, what then? You click on the link in your mail, you get to the forum and you have to login. You login, you get thrown out of the forum to Mambo. You go back to the forum and start searching for the posting!
can u please click "Live Mambo Chat" on the main menu on the left while i'm online so I can fully understand the issue. I got the issue about notification.
get the stable release, I fixed the notification issue. uninstall the previous mod and install the new one.
What notification issue? There is none, at least not here. The issue is that you get redirected to the Mambo entrance page when you login in the forum. I mentioned the notification as an example how annoying this redirect is. Or does the new version does away with this redirect?
actually there was, when you get notified for a new post in board or new topic... the link is incorrect. Maybe that's why you're ask to login.
That was just an example with the need to login when getting a notification. And it will stay like that because we have several closed sections where the user has to login before he can read something. In the phpBB we used before that was not an issue. You clicked on the link in your mail, the browser opended to the forum and you were asked to login. After login you were directed to the posting you wanted to see.
But that's not the general issue. The genereal issue is:
1. User comes to the site 2. User sees menue button for the forum 3. User clicks on menue button and goes to the forum 4. User logs in 5. User gets logged in but also gets kicked back to the Mambo entrance page and has to click again on the menue button to get back to where he wanted to go in the first place.
OK, one more to the "He who is logged in in Mambo is also logged in in smf and vice versa" theory:
Mambo default session length is set to 60, smf is set to 120 (in my login screen in smf). So, after 1 hour Mambo kicks me out but I'm still logged in in smf. I tried that several times now, setting session length to a couple of minutes as test. It works like that. Funny thing: When Mambo kicks me out and I am still logged in in smf I can nevertheless re-login in Mambo without any problem. Or is this ignoring of the bilateral login management a "feature"?

wobo
There's a check whether you're logged in or not.
The main goal of this component is just to log you to Mambo and SMF. I actually made the implementation simplier compared to the previous versions. When you log in, it's just actually calling the SMF function to log you in and vice versa. This is not actually an issue so, i'll let it be for now.
About redirection issue, let me try this test case and see what I can do.
Yes, this asynchronous session management is not a real issue, it just cought me by surprise. The real issue is the redirection, err, rather "one of the real issues" with this new environment ...
