PRE-REQUISITE: ===================================== - Use the default database prefixes!
- 'jos' for Joomla
- 'mos_' for Mambo
- 'smf_' for SMF
- Install Joomla 1.0.x (recommended) or Mambo 4.5.3+
- Example Absolute Path: /home/user/public_html/
- Example Live Site URL: http://www.yoursite.com
- Install SMF 1.1RC2 (rcommended) on the same database as the Joomla/Mambo installation
- Example Absolute Path: /home/user/public_html/smf/
- Example SMF Forum URL: http://www.yoursite.com/smf
JOOMLA-SMF FORUM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: ===================================== Please report any errors encountered during this process to the forums on JoomlaHacks.com. http://www.joomlahacks.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,94/ - Install Joomla-SMF Forum Component
- Login to Joomla/Mambo Administration
- Select 'Components' from the menu labeled 'Installers'
- Click 'Browse' and navigate to the com_joomla_smf_forum_x.y.zip file
- Click 'Upload File & Install'
- A message reporting the installation status will be displayed.
If it does not say successful please report the error to JoomlaHacks.com- Configure the Joomla-SMF Forum Component
- Select 'Joomla-SMF'->'Configuration' from menu labeled 'Components'
- Click 'Save'
- Enter the Absolute Path to your SMF installation *without* a trailing slash in the field marked 'SMF Absolute Path'.
- For example: /home/myusername/public_html/forum
- Enter the Database Prefix for your SMF installation in the field marked 'SMF Database Prefix'.
- Click 'Save'
**At this point there should be no red text in the configuration screen. If you still see red text this indicates a problem that should be recorded and reported.- Click the link 'click to patch' in front of the text 'Patch Joomla Source files.
**At this point the link should change and now show 'done[un-patch]'. An error message at the top of the screen should be recorded and reported.- Click the link 'click to patch' in front of the text 'Patch SMF Source Files'.
**At this point the link should change and now show 'done[un-patch]'. An error message at the top of the screen should be recorded and reported.- Click the link 'click to sync' in front of the text 'Synchronize Joomla and SMF users.
- This step is optional but highly recommended
**At this point the link should change and now show 'done[verify]'. An error message at the top of the screen should be recorded and reported. Verify that all INSTALLATION CHECKLIST items are marked 'done' or 'installed'**- Optional Configurations
- Any additional configurations can be made at this time

took me ages to find how to download this product - matbe helpfukl to make it a little more obvious?

There is a known problem with this version where an error from SMF causes tons of garbled text. Joomla-SMF 1.1.01 fixes this problem, it is available in the thread by the same name in the forums and should be available here soon. |

Guys you need to extract the first file then make sure you clcik the com_joomla_smf_1_1_4_2.zip when you browse from components :)
