Description: |
This is for SMF 1.1RC1 only! Please read the "_README_FIRST.txt" for installation instructions.
PRE-REQUISITE:
1. Use the default database prefixes!
"jos_" for Joomla
"smf_" for SMF
2. Use the same "admin" user account and password on setting up Joomla and SMF!
3. Install Joomla 1.0.x (recommended) or Mambo 4.5.2.x
Example:
Absolute Path: /home/user/public_html/
Live Site URL: http://www.yoursite.com
4. Install SMF 1.1RC1 on "the same database" as Joomla
Example:
Absolute Path: /home/user/public_html/smf/
Live Site URL: http://www.yoursite.com/smf
JOOMLA-SMF FORUM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Install Joomla-SMF Forum component from Joomla administrator.
2. Configure the Joomla-SMF Forum component.
NOTE: Verify that all INSTALLATION CHECKLIST items are marked
"done" or "installed"!
OPTIONAL MODULES:
Pleae download all optional modules from JoomlaHacks.com downloads section.
NOTE: IF YOU PLAN TO UPGRADE SMF or INSTALL SMF MOD!
1. Note: Visit JoomlaHacks.com first for compatibility check.
2. Go back to Joomla-SMF configuration.
3. Un-patch the SMF index.php and Sources/Subs-Post.php file!
4. Re-patch it after.
UPGRADING FROM MAMBO-SMF FORUM RELEASES:
1. Uninstall the previous version of Mambo-SMF Forum,
recent topics modules, and optional login module.
2. Uninstall the SMF Mod from SMF Package Manager.
3. Install the new Joomla-SMF Forum.
